For most of us, the last week has felt like a lifetime. In the course of eight days, we've lost the Senate and an election challenge, watched as angry people stormed the Capitol and equally angry leaders impeached the president. We've seen the crushing of our voice, the silencing of our freedoms, and felt the wave of corporate punishment start to roll across the country. Americans are so badly shaken that 80 percent of them think the country is falling apart. And church leaders, political leaders, and Christians aren't far behind.
The choice before us is as plain as it was in 1947, when Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall looked at the chamber of leaders and asked whether it would be "Christ or chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration?" Then, as now, America was at a crossroads -- and how you and I respond will have a lot to do with whether a broken, hurting, and frustrated people find the healing we desperately need.
This nation is in a political and cultural dilemma -- and it's only going to get worse. There are powerful people in this country coming for your rights, your platforms, your very livelihood. And they're using what happened at the Capitol as an excuse to shut Christians down -- permanently. Right now, we have a choice: we can fight the world's way, or we can fall to our knees in prayer, recognizing that what this country faces is beyond our ability to solve. Ultimately, there's only one solution to this battle, and it's spiritual.

2020 was a horrible century
Yep, it felt like a century.
The author does not get it. We are the enemies of the left more than they are our enemies because they need us to be racist and hateful to justify themselves. The last four years has made that clear.

Heh! It did seem to drag on a bit, didn’t it?
Friends don't drive decent people to suicide because they have different political beliefs.
Or get you fired.
Or want you to die.
Or want you to be sent to re-education camp.
Or to take your children away.
Encourage others to burn down your house.
I think I would classify that as an enemy.
In your private gated community it might be different.
Ultimately, there’s only one solution to this battle, and it’s spiritual.==================================
The way I heard it
“The Lord helps those who help themselves.”
If we are not enemies, then we must be friends, at least potentially? Trump supporters are called white supremacists, Nazis, traitors, seditionists. They get fired from their jobs and run out of business. As the author acknowledges, conservatives are being silenced and stripped of freedoms, and this has been going on for some time. This comes not just from people in positions of power, but from neighbors and family members. The other side is convinced that this is all good and necessary.
With friends like that, who needs enemies?
Having said that, my daily prayer is, God save the United States. Lord, have mercy.
Eh, I’m not in a gated community. And yes, I’m willing to make an exception for the commies.
Living in denial of that fact only ensures our defeat.
I’m with you - and don’t intend to go quietly.
‘We Are Not Each Other’s Enemies’
Really? As Rush has stated innumerable times, please tell me, what do we have in common with them?
What common bond/concept ties us together? Name one single thing!
The answer is, we haven’t a single thing in common with the people who dream of and are attempting to force upon us a Marxist/ Communist Gov’t where We the People are slaves and subservient to a Central Gov’t who controls and dictates to us every aspect of life.
Yep, most of them probably lead fairly unproductive lives. The need those lives fulfilled, and they’re going about it in the wrong-est way possible.
There is actually quite a backstory to the excerp on Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall. Back to a time when our hallowed halls respected and revered the Lord Jesus Christ. Compared to cleavers recent disgusting trinute to a hindu god.
Here is Marshalls obit/legacy
Im afraid we aint seen nothing yet.
NO WE CAN"T
Right, they are my enemy. I dont shout it from the rooftops, but my head is always on a swivel.
Sure, we are friends, but a different kind of friends. Kinda like the Israelis and the Palestinians but without the warm fuzzy loving relationship.
Kinda funny how All Lives Matter seemed correct less than a year ago. Now, not so much yet it has nothing to do with black people. I'd take any non repeat, non violent felon black person over a whole bunch of white people at this point. Those white people pushing racial division are the worst. Any people pushing racial division are just plain evil regardless of race, color or creed. Yes, I forgive a felony on the record of anyone as long as it wasn't violent and only happened once in the past. A long term effort of trying to sow racial division and/or the fall of the USA, not so much.
