There seems no appetite in the Vatican, at any level, to humbly accept and remedy those grave errors. Rather, a desire to hurtle into the future with Pachamama; Amazon Culture; ecology; and global secular solutions – as moral virtue is completely ignored and vocations and faithful Catholics disappear at record speeds.

THANK GOD! For Blessed Saint Father Martin Luther!!

Like every man God uses greatly, he was flawed.

Yet God used Saint Luther to recover the Gospel of Grace and to lead millions to salvation!

Thank you for posting this thread and for making it an open thread.

This op-ed inadvertently illustrates precisely why the Reformation was necessary. Works-based, authoritarian, superstitious religion versus salvation by grace alone, through faith alone.

With Luther, there was no warning, just 95 absurd theses appearing out of thin air.

Has the author actually read the 95 Theses? We can discuss whether or not they reflect the actual teaching of the church at its beginning, but they are far fron absurd, and came from a study of Scripture, not "out of thin air."

“no warning, just 95 absurd theses appearing out of thin air.”

LOL, yeah. They was blindsided! Caught them right outta the blue, right between selling forgiveness for cash and torturing heretics.

Lotta Papal bull right there.

The Catholic Church has had profoundly flawed Popes, including the 3, 500 yrs ago. The Church profoundly needed Reformation, so does the Church at this time. There is error everywhere.

Not even out of the Christmas season and little ebby is on the floor kicking and screaming because he can’t stand that Christians exist.

Martin Luther did not die unrepentant, just in correct opposition to an errant Roman Catholic Church.

The errors, it is said, will lead to “The Great Apostasy.” There seems no appetite in the Vatican, at any level, to humbly accept and remedy those grave errors.

Ironically...those were the SAME things that brought about the Reformation! Luther was absolutely right and he wasn't alone in his efforts. If Catholics expect to go to heaven they should get used to the idea that Martin Luther will be there, too.

Martin Luther helped usher in a vast Christian movement in which everyone was encouraged to follow what the Bible says and not what corrupt popes had mandated.

Other Christian groups had previously existed, but Martin multiplied those by a thousand fold.

Thank you, God, for such men, who, although flawed, saw the Truth and insisted everyone seek that, instead.

“We still face great danger. With Luther, there was no warning, just 95 absurd theses appearing out of thin air.”

“Absurd,” but completely true and valid.

The Catholic church is hamstrung by these shortcomings and plenty of others it seems impossible to ever remedy, which is truly sad.

Many Catholics (or former Catholics) have caused the greatest problem by leaving the Catholic faith and following the ways of the world and not the ways of Jesus.

While Luther and others were the instigators, too many Catholic have fallen away from the faith. Even some of the leadership have accepted sinful ways.

Both the Blessed Mother and Jesus have warned us and yet we ignored the warnings.

Let us pray ans ask both Blessed Mother and Jesus to continue to help guide us on the rough and narrow path.

The greatest damage done to the church was when Emperor Constantine joined, took it over and turned it into a corrupt instrument of persecution for the next 1500 years.

It is foolishness in action to plead Fatima revelations, since there were zero 'revelations' at the time. The so called revelations only showed up AFTER Lucia was convented for several years. To top that off, the UFO PHOTOGRAPHED during the Fatima episode is wrongly attributed to a chariot of God in the early references from the Fatima episode.

As Rome and its 'other religion' are prone to do, it is the hierarchy who derive the 'secrets' after they put the priest who was in Fatima at the time of the event and took eyewitness accounts down onto paper, after the org sequesters both Lucia and the priest for a few years.

Power of the ORG is derived from a pole of deceptions which, sadly, people are lead astray with.

Why the hell do partisan religious fanatics continue to flame the hatred of fellow Christians??????

What contributed MOST to the unfortunate split in Christianity was the incredible corruption and greed of the late Medieval Papacy.

Popes who abused indulgences by selling tickets to salvation

Oh please SuperCatholics.
The Medieval Papacy created the Reformation, not Luther or anyone else.
The sale of indulgences and gross corruption in the Roman Catholic Church was as culpable as the nutty Puritans and monster Henry VIII in wrecking the unity of Christianity.
