Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:38
“But God gives it a body as he has chosen.”
It is difficult for us to know what New Testament writers mean by saying we’ll become like Christ in his glorious body. On this subject, we do well to stick to the wording of Scripture.
Paul wrote, "so is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body" (1 Corinthians 15:42-44).
And later in the same chapter: "Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘death is swallowed up in victory’" (1 Corinthians 15:51-54).
Paul emphasized the strong difference between the natural, mortal body and the spiritual, immortal body. But both are bodies. Our perfected spirits will be at home in our immortal bodies. What exactly this spiritual body looks like or how it functions, we do not know. We only know it will be like the Lord’s glorious body, and in that we put our hope and expectations. (Excerpt taken from The Gospel for Real Life)
We are not
this body
NOT
This body
Pure spirit.................
It states that we move from a natural body to a spiritual body. If I could only imagine.
I can only imagine what it will be like .....
The closest we’ll come to understanding a spiritual body, while living in a physical body, is to think about what kind of body you inhabit while you are dreaming.

Renee Descartes
In his book “Meditations”, he wrote, “the act of understanding is distinguished from that of the imagination.
The human mind is shown to be really distinct from the body, and, nevertheless, to be so closely conjoined therewith, as together to form, as it were, a unity.”
According to him, mind is diametrically opposed to body. Mind is active and free though the mind influences the body and the body also influences the mind, i.e. they interact with each other.
These two substances mind and body are created by God.
When did Paul become an Apostle ? Was it before Christ’s Ascension or after ?
No. Christ has a physical body for all eternity and so will we. very different from the ones we have now, not limited by time and space but a body nonetheless.
after. Paul became an apostle when he encountered the Risen Christ on the road to damascus
We can see what Jesus was like after the Resurrection and what He could do, and read about descriptions of Him in Revelation.
Seems to me that we'll look much the same as we do now, but our bodies will be different in nature, sinless, for one thing, and able to walk through walls perhaps. Or survive in outer space? Certainly not be subject to the corruption and laws that govern our universe at the moment.
We do come back riding on horses with Him (as per Revelation).
THIS one is toast !
If I get a repeat, only perfect ... I'll be happy.
If a spiritual one ... I'm a Feb 29th Pisces, I'll spend all eternity fascinated with myself
If something totally unimaginable, God calls it a body ... green and yellow with three deet, five arms and I can slither, fly and swim at the same time ?
What an amusement park THAT'S gonn'a be ! ...
It will be like if we are a 2d drawing suddenly discovering the third dimension.
John told us in 1 John 3 that when we see Jesus in the air, gathering us to return to the Father's house, we shall be like Him spatiotemporally because we will be able to see Him since we will be existing in the coordinate system He now occupies. He is invisible to our 4D realm because He is in a glorified body, a real physical glorified body of flesh and bone (to His disciples, 'A spirit has not flesh and bone as you see me have').
When He transforms the living members of The Redeemed, we will suddenly disappear from 4D sensing, but will exist in a greater coordinate system enabling us to see Him as He IS.
Jesus was recognizable after He arose so I would suspect we’d be recognizable in how we look.
He explained, 'If you've seen me you've seen the Father, for I am in the Father and The Father is in me.'
He was giving them a watered down Physics lesson, meaning 'All you can know or sense of The Father is what you see in Me.'
In essence the Father is dimensionally so great and beyond the dimension of creation is where He The Father is in your limits well, as Jesus.
He can be directly sensed only where God The Father is in your dimensional limits of space time, only where He intersects your limits of sensing. The Bible instructed that His name would be God With Us, Emmanuel.
Implied with that teaching is the reality of other dimensions the disciples were not at that stage able to sense. The Father is so much greater in and out of dimensional coordinates that the only place we can sense Him directly is where He intersects our three of space and one of time coordinate system, ... as Jesus.
After Jesus raised from the dead, He was only visible to those He wanted to be seen by. He was 'in and not in' the Upper room, intersecting the 4D of the Upper room yet existing greater than the 4D limits of the upper room, when He suddenly appeared to have Thomas touch the risen body and stop doubting.
"Blessed are they who believe yet have not seen," He told them. When He appears in the Air to gather us to Him and return to the Father's House, ALL the reddemed will be transformed 'up' into the greater coordinate system so that we shall be like Him and see Him as He really is in His glorified state.
Looking similarly at Jesus's Resurrection and Ascension...where he was transformed over death....and then simply ascending as he did..he just went up! I would assume since his disciples saw that and knew even then it was Him. It might be similar for us when we leave this world behind..but it's not seen.
I was with my mother as she passed and she was awake....it was quite an event I have to say, but I watched as her life left her body and it's very apparent when that happens they're leaving their body.
We are not our bodies....our bodies are what holds us within it's frame here on earth....which cannot pass on into His Heavenly worlds. It is earth-bound.
I really don't get into the 'dimensional' type things as there's a lot of that with new age and other esoteric beliefs.
