The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are using the teachings of Jesus to help train soldiers.
And why not? He is the Jewish Messiah according to many prophecies, and his teachings are rooted in the Hebrew scriptures, reflecting the best in Jewish wisdom and faith.
Still, reports have been coming out on Israeli media from IDF soldiers complaining about using the New Testament teachings as part of their military preparation. In one training program for battlefield medics, IDF officers are using the parable of the Good Samaritan as an example of caring for those who have been injured, including Jews, Arabs, and anyone in need.
Eitan, a soldier who had completed his training in the medic program told the online news portal News 0404:
“We were shocked. In an innocent first aid lesson, the commander opened by reading from the New Testament and explained how Christianity was a religion of peace and grace. He tried to teach us how much Jesus cared for people and how much we needed to learn from him to provide first aid as soldiers in.

I’m pinging the End Times Ping List for this one. Very interesting article given the timing and where we are on The Lord’s clock.
We all know Israel will eventually call upon “the one whom they pierced” (Zechariah 12:10).
Oh no, can’t have that. Some Jews might accidentally discover that Jesus is someone they might like to know more about.
Well... in Trump’s first term he moved the Embassy to Jerusalem. Wonder if in his second they’ll break ground on the 3rd Temple????
I once had a fully conversation with a messianic Jew. You believe Jesus is the promised messiah? “Yes”. So you’re a Christian? “No, I’m a Jew but I think Jesus was the messiah”.
I never did get it. It was very circular thinking. Odd sect, but I accept them as a bretheren.
This is an article from that messyonic “jewish” rag, “IsraelToday”. Anyone in the IDF using their position to proselytize would be severely punished, and rightfully so. So the veracity of this article is very much in question.
Isaiah 53
Jesus was the perfect Jew.
Yeah I could see them not identifying as “Christians” which to them might mean affiliation with Gentiles.
Either way, they know Yeshuah is their Messiah - so whether or not they say they’re Christian, they are.
A Jewish client of mine gave me a very nice print of Van Gogh’s “The Good Samaritan” as a thank-you gift a few years ago. I was delighted with it and asked her whether she knew the Biblical story. She had no idea - apparently thought the story came from the painting and not vice-versa. I got to do a little ‘splaining, it was great!
Proselytizing would be frowned on, but they aren’t idiots either. In Israel, it would behoove a soldier there to be well instructed in the concepts of Judaism, trips to Masada, Christianity, and especially islam.
To not do so is to be unprepared.
Very cool! Thanks for the ping.
Hi.
Most all of my Jewish relatives and friends know about the NT and what Jesus preached.
I’m not a theologian, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn one time...
When the Lion of Judea comes back, he will spare his beloved tribes...
Others, not so much.
But heads up! When He does come back, just looking busy ain’t gonna cut it.
His sickle will be wide and deep.
Sorry for the rant. I read the Book and know how it all ends.

THere are even New Testament classes at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
The New Testament is considered the best historical book on Jewish live before the fall of Second Temple. Nobody there questions Jesus authenticity.
He is considered the Rabbi Joshua, with his followers and detractors. Lots of interesting insights on Christ from Jewish perspective.
For example - the last supper was not actually finished in the Upper room (There are several cups in Passover supper), Jesus took off before they could arrest him there, but then gave himself up in Gethsemane, right when he reached the place where he could easily disappeared and save himself.
The last cup of the Last supper was the cup of gall Jesus drunk on the cross. Then it was finished.
Interesting.
Amen FRiend!
What a day it will be!
Every day, I gain a better understanding of why religious leaders had problems with a secular Jewish state.
I didn’t know that preaching about Yeshua in parts of Israel is VERY dangerous:
