Search My Heart Lord

Lately there have been times when I become angry at the things I see going on in the world. I find myself wondering if the things I care about are worth my time. I see many people walking around in a daze, caring only for what the world has to offer them, not what the Lord does.

It seems like my friends and relatives dismiss the things I share with them as just another rant from someone who is way too wrapped up in things they could care less about. My frustration can become so overwhelming that I wonder why I should even care for what they think, or where they are headed. That’s when I realize my love for them has become contempt, and that I need to step back and search my heart.
So I go to Psalm 139:23-24, and I give it to the Lord;

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

It’s like pulling a power play on my heart. I give it to Him, and He does what He always does. He reveals anything I have yet to deal with in my own life. Sometimes they are things I have hidden, even from myself.

Sometimes it’s a hurt I still feel from a time when someone transgressed against me and I have yet to truly forgive them. Maybe it’s a secret selfish desire I have refused to give up that is eating away at my heart, a little bite at a time. After I have dealt with that part of my heart which needed to be revealed, I am at peace and ready to face the world again.

I still see things going on around me that are wrong, but no longer do I see them through the heart of an angry Christian. Instead I see them through the heart of a forgiving child of God. A child of Christ who lovingly prays for those who are blindly perusing the pleasures of this world.

I pray that those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of the lord Jesus Christ.
Amen

I share this for all those of you, who like me, may feel convicted
for the times our anger comes off like hate. We are told,
“Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within
your heart on your bed, and be still." Psalm 4:4

These times warrant a self-reflection with the Lord.

It reminded me of the song, “Change My Heart, Oh God.”

What about this part, which immediately precedes the lines you quoted?

Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.

For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.

Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?

I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.

Very needed among us Christians.

Whether it is the illness of a nation or of a single human being, our need for healing can be the result of the sin of a people, a leader, or an individual. It is God who heals lands, pestilences, wars, bodies, emotions, souls, spirits.
He may, and often does, use us as His instruments of healing, yet, the instrument is powerless without the Physician’s power.
—from my Bible study lesson for this week

Thank you for posting the encouragement in the Lord.

Me too. I had to delete many Facebook post last night (most were articles and Facebook wouldn’t show the public) regarding the election. I was so angry about the cheating and angrier about those who denied it happened. Today my 365 Bible reading was 2 Timothy 3 and asked God to show me where I fail. He did. I am not blind or lost like many. Now when I’m angry I’m going to post scripture. God has plenty to say about cheaters and liars. I will also continue to pray for the lost, like I once was.

3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

A Final Charge to Timothy

10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I’m leaving Facebook Friday and going to parler. I’m hoping my friends and family all over the country follow. I love seeing my cousins children (I have 63 cousins on my moms side) growing up, people were were stationed with in the navy,....and hearing the latest from high school friends around the country.

Amen Linda.

Your response and from others I have shared this with on places I frequent is the same response I felt when I wrote it.

Gid is in control and we must not step in His place. We must stand with Him and do as He has obstructed is to do.

Mix have another commentary I am working on about a blueberry muffin in a dream I had. I believe God speaks to us in many ways, and dreams have always been Gods way of reaching us, because the world is not able to distract us from it.

However, it’s up to us to understand Scriptures and the lessons we learn from them to truly grasp what Christ is trying to tell us

The Lord works in very mysterious ways indeed. It shames me to admit that my passion for stopping illegal immigration did eventually put hatred in my heart for Hispanic people. So what did the Lord do? He put in my path a Mexican girl who I can never be with because of circumstances, but whom I have come to love with all my heart. And He thereby cleansed my heart of hatred. It doesn’t mean I am not still adamant about controlling our borders and allowing in only those of our choosing, but the hatred is gone. Thank you, Lord. Your lesson comes in a painful way, but I am grateful for it.

And the funny thing is, she and her family are very much supporters of President Trump and she asks me every day to reassure her he will win. :)
