There are many levels of incarnate souls or spirits around us. They range from the lost souls of aborted fetuses, to ghosts that are afraid of the Light from Heaven, to the truly dark evil demonic spirits here to disrupt God’s work.

I believe a lot of it is the souls of the nephilim that were created by the union of the fallen Watchers from heaven and the daughters of man.

Not part of the plan of creation so exist outside of it. No rest on death of the body of the nephilim so they wander endlessly seeking another to inhabit.

But it was the child who had the demon, not the believing father. And even if it had been the father, he was a brand new believer. IMHO, Christians can be oppressed by demons, but not possessed, unless they allow themselves to be, at which point, are they still Christians? Many Christians ARE oppressed, usually through a lack of knowledge, or disobedience. Of course, the devil tries to tempt the devout Christian, who is prayed up and full of God’s Word, but we are overcomers, if we will hold fast.

Instructions given by Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, 9 February 1843, making known three grand keys by which the correct nature of ministering angels and spirits may be distinguished (see History of the Church, 5:267).

1–3, There are both resurrected and spirit bodies in heaven; 4–9, Keys are given whereby messengers from beyond the veil may be identified.
1 There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones;

I grew up in NYC, and it does (or did, who knows right now) have incredible energy. Now, how much that has to do with demons, etc. I don’t know.

Before 1968 or so, NYC was a paradise to me. After that it was down hill for a long, long, time. Until Giuliani. But it was never what it had been.

Under the morons running the place now it is going to hell in a handbasket, no supernatural help required!

Well, now you lost me. There is no such thing, Biblically, as what you described in the case of the first woman. And a person going to heaven here and now, is NOT THE rapture. It may be a rapturous occasion, as in the common use of the word, but NOT in the sense of the last days. I am beginning to doubt your Christianity. You’ve mixed in a bunch of new age, and Katherine Kubler Ross into your beliefs.
However, having said that, I do believe that in that nanosecond between the last breath and eternity, that the LORD speaks to the dying person, and if they respond to him and acknowledge him as LORD, they will be saved. He said it was not his will that any should be lost, so I believe he calls up to the very last nanosecond. Of course, all do not heed him.

Leaving out man's PREFERENCE when 'quoting' this verse leaves a vastly different impression in the minds of people.

Nothing indicates that a person WILL be with the Lord immediately after death.  

 

This begins in childhood when the kid is told that little Fluffy is now 'with Jesus' when her cat is flattened by a car,

or that Gramma is 'with Jesus' when she died.

Romans 8:28:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

So, yes, God even uses Satan.

The BOOK says: Let Us create Man in Our image.   So there you get some 'sons of God'; right??

The BOOK also says, in Genesis 5:3-4

 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. ⁴ After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

 

These things happened BEFORE Genesis chapter 6....

I fully agree with Tired&Retired’s comments. Your comment is about what we are seeing in the political realm, but I think that it and those spreading the hate and destruction are inspired by politics and DEMONS. There are demonic spirits ‘alive’ and acting through others who reject Christianity and we are seeing that today.
