As the Republican National Convention wrapped up last night, an amazing thing happened. Schubert's Ave Maria was sung in Latin by opera singer, Christopher Macchio. It was a beautiful moment.
This was a master-stroke by Trump, likely suggested by Melania. I have posted it on some Catholic F-Book groups and it is being shared like wildfire. If you missed it, have a listen.

I had a nuptial mass and it was sung at communion. My marriage was blessed by the pope. A real pope. Also had it sung at both my parents funerals. Beautiful!

Apparently THEY thought he was acceptable. THEY are to blame for his election. The election was made public so you can read about which Cardinals elected him.

Pope John Paul II blessed my marriage and we have the certificate from Rome. A Franciscan relative obtained it for us. We were very fortunate.

One more observation on the just completed RNC Convention.
Because it was available on-line in its entirety from many social media and free sources like C-SPAN, it stole the thunder from the journalist commentators whose tradition is to nit-pick the speeches and closely control who you listen to.
In the past, conventions were merely a side-show to enable the Fake News pundits to spin their narratives.
But the Corona Virus flipped the model to something more valuable for the tens of millions of viewers. And it became a largely on-line event, not a pure television event, so the viewer gained control — and the financial gain for the networks was significantly reduced.
Plus we really got to see and hear the speakers — not just politicians and Cabinet members, but also social media stats, and average Americans who would normally be censored out or canceled due to lack of time.
So you gotta believe the IMPACT of this convention is likely to be many times greater in terms of November outcome.
The new format has driven another stake in the heart of Fake News. Steadily, We the People are gaining more control over our media and our election news.
I’m also watching with great anticipation the sale of TikTok. It could be very significant. What if Trump were to set conditions for the sale, such as guaranteeing freedom from censorship before the FCC license is renewed?
Remember, TikTok is a successful and well-established social network already. So it’s a much easier task to grow that against the Twitter and Facebook monopolies.

Even FOXNews allowed more of the convention and spent less time showcasing the egos of their ‘talent’ like Wallace.
Trump did an amazing job with convention... the White House setting for his acceptance was perfect, so was Fort McHenry for Pence’s acceptance...
Icing on the cake? Both sites made democrat heads explode...
Pertinent videos may not be stored forever, but if one wished to view any ‘esteemed politician’ in action, chances are a video would be found. One filmed during his time as an acting politician. To actually view non edited versions of the event is more powerful than just reading a reporter’s words of same event.
There must be some way forward to crack down on those who pull these from the system in order to sensor and, in addition, make a complete, unedited version instilling a bit of truthfulness into the narrative.
If Covid has made possible positive changes in
1. National Party Conventions
2. Changing the mediums by which we gather information which we consider important
If these actions should continue, than to be honest, I’d declare Covid, though a terrible burdin, might turn out to be the silver lining of which we often speak.

Covid helped the RNC convention imo. It was patriotic, dignified and heartwarming. You got to focus on the speakers and not all the yelling and silly hats. Loved the fireworks and music.

Yes, Trump and Pence really know how to take advantage of their incumbency. Fort McHenry was an inspired choice. Home of the Star Spangled Banner and American bravery.
But I also notice that footage of other Trump events such as the D.C. Fourth of July and Mt. Rushmore made it into some of the campaign videos. Very smart.
These clips were only a second or two of the clips, but are powerful. I laughed when I glimpsed a 1 second spot of “The Beast”, the Presidential armored Cadillac, riding on the NASCAR roadtrack to the roar of racing fans.
