With violence in the streets of many of our most prominent cities, there is an underlying sub-theme that is also troubling. Christophobia, which attacks anything Christian, is surely on the march.
Perhaps the latest example is the burning of Bibles in recent Portland protests.
On Aug. 2, the Washington Examiner noted, "Portland protesters were filmed burning Bibles and the American flag as protests continue in the city for more than two months. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz responded to a Friday video of people burning what was described as a 'stack of Bibles' on Twitter Saturday, saying, 'This is who they are.'"
In reference to this bonfire, journalist Ian Miles Cheong, managing editor of Human Events, tweeted, "I don't know what burning the Bible has to do with protesting against police brutality." And he added, "Do not be under the illusion that these protests and riots are anything but an attempt to dismantle all of Western civilization and upend centuries of tradition and freedom of religion."
How interesting to note that the focus of the ceaseless attacks in Portland has been the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse. The late Mark Hatfield, a long-time senator from the state of Oregon, was known for years as an outspoken follower of Jesus.

But burn a “gay” flag and go to jail.
Antifa threatened to attack New Hope Christian College in Eugene a couple of nights ago, to tear down the cross on campus. Hundreds of people showed up to protect the cross, plus armed citizen militia, plus security guards hired by the college, plus police. Antifa drove by but decided not to attack. But the college is still on high alert.
Seems like that is the ‘new normal’ now.
Good citizens are going to have to get in large groups to defend themselves.
If I were in charge of the campaign ads for President Trump, we would put together a series of ads tying these attacks to the democrat party.
There would be a voice over saying, “ this is the face of the democrat party. Not one of them has condemned these anti-Christian, anti-Semitic actions.
Are these the kind of people you want to have power over you?”
The brutal annihilation of Christianity is the core goal of Democrats.
People will laugh at this statement, and the general public won’t accept it, but yes, you are 100% correct.
-Years of secular education in public schools that also subtly present Christian beliefs as stupid.
-Vehement and vitriolic anti Christian message in the arts and media.
-A government that is at best agnostic and secular.
-The rise of socialism/communism/feminism philosophy which all have a powerful anti-Christian undertone. Many of their ideas have become main stream.
-Immigration by other religions and in particular one that is very anti-Jewish and anti-Christian.
All of this creates a tone or mood and you might not have a single person who you can blame (a leader or group) but instead have a general Zeitgeist where picking on Christians is acceptable (Catholic jokes - every sand up comedian has some), closing churches because of a “pandemic” but being slow to react to large crowds congregating for various other reasons, spontaneous and random acts of vandalism on churches, statues, etc...
BLM is totally communist, and communists have always been anti-Christian.

Time to launch another Crusade.
Being lukewarm causes ebbing of belief.
Persecution brings out fervor.
If the lefties really knew that their tactics would be different. However mob psychology doesn't bring out the best in people. People who go where THEY KNOW will be protests, police and possible violence and LOOKING FOR TROUBLE. They find it.
Perhaps they are such sad sacks that joining with these dysfunctional groups makes them feel less pain in their souls. I try to avoid the sad sacks, no matter how much they keep "pinging" me to add their dysfunctional thinking to my life.
Persecution can also work slowly...and build up "quiet steam." People can make up their minds to observe the persecution, avoid it and think about ways to counteract it.
--One way is to pray to God for inspiration, strength and courage in the face of the persecutors.
--Another is to stay close to God by attending one's own faith services daily.
--Another is to listen to those who run the faith services and take courage from THEIR faith.
It SEEMS like a good idea, especially to rid oneself of growing anger and frustration, but from what I've read NEGATIVE campaigns backfire. Always.
I save all the negativity for the news pundits. They WALLOW in it.
Nowadays the standard pundit/reporter seems to be an attractive 40-something woman who smiles, smirks and grins into the T.V. and lets fly with all the negative crap.
