BERLIN, GERMANY -- Former pope Benedict XVI became seriously ill himself after visiting his sick brother in Germany in June and is "extremely frail," according to a report in the Monday edition of the German Passauer Neue Presse newspaper.

Benedict, 93, is suffering from erysipelas [shingles] of the face, a virus that causes a facial rash and episodes of severe pain, the newspaper reported, citing the former pope's biographer Peter Seewald.

"According to Seewald, the Pope emeritus is now extremely frail," the report says. "His thinking and his memory are quick, but his voice is hardly audible at the moment."

I hope Pope Benedict finds quick and lasting relief from his pain. Actually, I thought the main reason he stepped aside many years ago was because he was either terminally or chronically ill.

I’ve long suspected that God has kept him alive as a sort living purgatory, forcing him to witness first-hand the disastrous consequences of his ill-advised resignation.

Should be the current Pope. That whole thing never made sense.

This reminds me, I home Ruth ginsberg hangs on until 2021 and Trump wins. It will become an interesting “show” to see her keep trying to “stay alive for the cause.”

As far as I understand Pope Benedict XVI never did resign it was a hostile take over. He was talking about a completely different issue and they intentionally took his words out of context. He has been disputing it ever since. He even wears the pope robes whenever you see him.

Haven’t experienced anything like he’s reported to have but what I had on my face years ago was painful enough. Didn’t seek medical help until my daughter kept after me and a topical cream helped clear it up and got rid of the pain but I was left with scarring..I have heard some horrific stories of the pain people go through. Do hope his pain is manageable and he can find comfort...

It was a hostile takeover, Francis was installed, he along with ‘Madame President’ Hillary, Merkel, Macron, the EU, three letter intelligence agencies, Social Media Tech Giants, corrupted politicians from both sides, Pelosi, Schumer, Graham, Romney, Roberts, Bush Spawns and the corrupted MSM following after a whole host of reprobate Obama creature like minded entrenched sycophants were all of one mind to help bring in the globalist agenda,

It is the spirit of anti-Christ rising up for the last days,

President Trump being elected along with Britain voting to leave the EU threw up a temporary wall delaying their moves, this is why they hate him (and us) so much, that same spirit thrashes about in an almost daily demonic fit and doesn’t bother to hide its evil hatred of us any longer,

These people will be back on track soon enough, half of this nation appears to want them and the older other half is dying off at an accelerated rate,

It is a race between Benedict XVI and Ruth Bader-Meinhof.

Have you read his resignation statement? It’s pretty clear. He resigned just for the reasons he said, why read in conspiracies? Most people in their 80’s do need to retire. Extremely old people cannot handle a regular job, much less being pope.

It’s not a regular job. It’s a special charism. No good has ever come from a legitimately elected pope quitting. B16’s health over these last 7.5 years of “retirement” obviously hasn’t been so bad that he couldn’t have done the job. All the travel and “world youth days” are just fluff. He could have handled the basics of the job (i.e., running the curia, appointing cardinals, etc.).

Maybe. Those speculations do not justify your presumptions about a great and holy man.

I agree that he’s a great and holy man, but at the beginning of his papacy he asked the faithful to pray for him that he shouldn’t flee for fear of the wolves. Eight years later, he fled. That’s on him. He’s a saintly man, but even the greatest saints, even the apostles, had moments of weakness. To ignore or excuse his weakness in 2013 and the disastrous consequences thereof does no one, including him, any favors.

A traditionalist in the Catholic Church, he was replaced by the reformist Pope Francis.

Bwahahahahaha!

I’m surprised he did not get the shingles vaccine, that’s often recommended by doctors for older people.

Ratzinger plans on being buried where JPII was buried. Two peas in a modernist pod.

Pope Benedict ALWAYS said that he didn't want the job. He was always said to have a "towering intellect" and a backbone of "tempered steel." It was NO secret that he didn't want the papacy.
Does EVERY cardinal HAVE to want the job?
Your suspicions point to a mean, nasty God.

Perhaps your suspicions keep you alive to witness the consequences of your own ill-advised opinions of Pope Benedict and our Lord.

.

.

Just a thought.

Doctors are wealthy because they "recommend" shots, surgeries, vaccines, medications, treatments, check-up, visits and EVERYTHING that keeps them tethered to the money bags.
I finally told my doctor to STOP calling me and "checking" on me for every ailment under the sun. I go to the doctor when I need one and not ONE second before.

I've had no shots since the ones I had to take to go with my husband to work in the Middle East. I remember that I had to take a POLIO vaccination to even enter the country. That was forty years ago.

Damn doctors.

Haha, if my ill-advised opinions are having consequences at the Vatican, if they’ve somehow resulted in the some or all of the disasters that have characterized the Bergoglio papacy, if I’m really that powerful, then I guess you’d be advised to stay on my good side. :)
