I’ve long suspected that God has kept him alive as a sort living purgatory, forcing him to witness first-hand the disastrous consequences of his ill-advised resignation.

Pope Benedict ALWAYS said that he didn't want the job. He was always said to have a "towering intellect" and a backbone of "tempered steel." It was NO secret that he didn't want the papacy.
Does EVERY cardinal HAVE to want the job?
Your suspicions point to a mean, nasty God.

Perhaps your suspicions keep you alive to witness the consequences of your own ill-advised opinions of Pope Benedict and our Lord.

.

.

Just a thought.

Haha, if my ill-advised opinions are having consequences at the Vatican, if they’ve somehow resulted in the some or all of the disasters that have characterized the Bergoglio papacy, if I’m really that powerful, then I guess you’d be advised to stay on my good side. :)
