Elderly Father Lino Viola celebrated a funeral in a 300 sqm church in Soncino, Italy, with thirteen people attending in gloves and masks.
Only seven people were allowed including the cantor, altar boys and a livestreamer, but Viola didn't sent away other six family members.
Therefore, during Mass, police officers walked in screaming, The service is suspended. They fined Father Viola with 270 euros for non-compliance with the coronavirus regime. Viola didn't interrupt Mass.
So, a policeman tried to hand him a mobil-phone with the mayor at the other end. Father replied, I am not answering the mayor; I am saying Mass. He prompted the policemen not to interrupt Mass. Finally, police left.
Viola told LaNuovaBq.it (April 20) that in 80 years and 55 as a priest he never saw such a desecration.
Ping
A worldwide suppression of Christianity is underway. Kudos to this priest who refused the call. Good to know some real old fashioned priests are out there.
God bless him.
Prayers for the priest.
Good for the priest. Hope his local bishop actually has enough spine to support him and has a “discussion” with the mayor and chief of police.
Totally despicable!!! Prayers up for our good and Faithful Priest and our true Catholic Church!!
Maddening. Sacrilegious. Outrageus.
May God bless and protect this priest.
This was a shameful attack on Catholicism.
I hope this mans father or mother takes him to task for this.
I hope the mayor loses reelection.
Do you think we’ll here from Francis about this incident?
How many MOSQUES are they allowing unfettered access to in Italy?
Needs a this worldly response.
