CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Virginia, April 9, 2020 (Liberty Counsel) — Police served a summons to the pastor of Lighthouse Fellowship for holding a church service for 16 people spaced far apart in a sanctuary that seats 293.
The charge is violating Virginia Governor Northam’s COVID Order 55 with a penalty up to a year in jail and/or a $2,500 fine. Liberty Counsel is representing Pastor Kevin Wilson and Lighthouse Fellowship Church.
Last Sunday before the service, a local police officer entered the church. He gave no introduction and did not ask for the pastor. He abruptly said they could not have more than 10 people spaced six feet apart. Then after the service, two police officers entered the church in full mask and gloves and asked to speak with the pastor. They issued Pastor Wilson a summons and informed him that if he had service on Easter, and if more than ten people attended, everyone would receive the same summons.
Lighthouse Fellowship helps keep people free of drug addiction, brokenness, mental illness, poverty, and prostitution. Many of the members do not have driver’s licenses and are dependent on the church family for rides to get food, supplies, and go to medical appointments and personal care services like haircuts. Many attendees are on limited income obtained from government assistance — whether disability or social security, Medicare or Medicaid.

These are the same officers that are going to protect us law abiding citizens when the government comes for our guns.
Refuse to accept the summons.
Force them to arrest everyone.

Probably has a home too. At least for a few more days.
A lot of folks on this site do not want to accept the reality of that statement. Or the implications of what that means when they come for YOURS.
Not one of these “enforcers” of unconstitutional mandates should be working anywhere near any position of “authority”.

The events of the last few days involving the police is opening a few eyes.
I see that common sense appears not to have been used by Governor Coonman Klan Robes Blackface’s police force.
So 16 people in a 293 seat Sanctuary, Likely sitting 15 to 30 feet apart from each other is unsafe but a line of 100 people 6 feet apart from each other at the local grocery store is perfectly safe.
This is just more proof that many of these “safety” lock down measures are not about the virus but about making people miserable and taking away as many of the right as possible.
There has to be at least some Virginia attorneys who will defend the Constitution without charge to the Church. The Governor of Virginia needs to be held accountable, at the very least, in a Court of law.
