Mr Galli is channeling Nancy Pelosi and the democrat party. Whereas the democrats hypocritically and falsely wrap themselves in the Constitution and moral outrage, Mr. Galli invokes Billy Graham and virtue signals his supposed moral high-ground. Galli confesses out of one side of his mouth the need to stay neutral regarding politics, while at the same time he speaks as an apologist for democrats and fake-Christians like himself.

I would encourage my FR friends to unsubscribe from Christianity Today and contact them to share your thoughts concerning their editor's anti-Trump article.

From Franklin Graham:

My Response to Christianity Today:

Christianity Today released an editorial stating that President Trump should be removed from office—and they invoked my father’s name (I suppose to try to bring legitimacy to their statements), so I feel it is important for me to respond. Yes, my father Billy Graham founded Christianity Today; but no, he would not agree with their opinion piece. In fact, he would be very disappointed. I have not previously shared who my father voted for in the past election, but because of this article, I feel it is necessary to share it now. My father knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump, and he voted for Donald Trump. He believed that Donald J. Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation.

For Christianity Today to side with the Democrat Party in a totally partisan attack on the President of the United States is unfathomable. Christianity Today failed to acknowledge that not one single Republican voted with the Democrats to impeach the President. I know a number of Republicans in Congress, and many of them are strong Christians. If the President were guilty of what the Democrats claimed, these Republicans would have joined with the Democrats to impeach him. But the Democrats were not even unanimous—two voted against impeachment and one voted present. This impeachment was politically motivated, 100% partisan. Why would Christianity Today choose to take the side of the Democrat left whose only goal is to discredit and smear the name of a sitting president? They want readers to believe the Democrat leadership rather than believe the President of the United States.

Look at all the President has accomplished in a very short time. The economy of our nation is the strongest it has been in 50 years, ISIS & the caliphate have been defeated, and the President has renegotiated trade deals to benefit all Americans. The list of accomplishments is long, but for me as a Christian, the fact that he is the most pro-life president in modern history is extremely important—and Christianity Today wants us to ignore that, to say it doesn’t count? The President has been a staunch defender of religious freedom at home and around the world—and Christianity Today wants us to ignore that? Also the President has appointed conservative judges in record number—and Christianity today wants us to ignore that? Christianity Today feels he should be removed from office because of false accusations that the President emphatically denies.

Christianity Today said it’s time to call a spade a spade. The spade is this—Christianity Today has been used by the left for their political agenda. It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism.

Is President Trump guilty of sin? Of course he is, as were all past presidents and as each one of us are, including myself. Therefore, let’s pray for the President as he continues to lead the affairs of our nation.

Refresher course, in the immediate wake of the Democrats 2004 losses (not just the White House) they went on a campaign to close the “God Gap” and Nancy Pelosi herself (Queen of Hearts in the faux impeachment proceedings) was key to that:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/obama-gaffe-undermines-dem-outreach/
Obama Gaffe Undermines Dem Outreach
APRIL 13, 2008 / 4:15 PM / THE POLITICO

This so-called “God gap” consumed Democrats following the 2004 presidential election, as George W. Bush won eight in ten of those who voted on “moral values” and the GOP advantage with weekly churchgoers soared to more than 20 percentage points.

That stark divide is at the root of Sunday’s “Compassion Forum,” which comes just nine days before the April 22 Pennsylvania primary, the second event of the Democratic primary season to feature a prominent discussion of the role of religion in politics.

“It is the culmination of three to three and a half years of effort and focus, working with the party to reengage, reactivate the conversation with the whole country, with people of faith,” said Burns Strider, who heads religious outreach efforts for Clinton. “Our candidates are not just desirous to talk about faith but they are people of faith.”

...House Speaker Nancy Pelosi began a Democratic Faith Working Group in 2005, led by Strider, precisely to counter perceptions that Democrats were irreligious, intolerant, or looked down on to people of faith—an impression held by even some Democrats. The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life has consistently found that fewer than half of Democrats believe their party is “friendly toward religion.”

wow! I believe I read a book and suggested it to others that was written by Galli some years back, i actually thought it helped bring a wholeness to Jesus, parts of the gospels that many of today’s christians forget or choose to ignore like repentance, obedience etc because they prefer the feel good verses.

“have illuminated the president’s moral deficiencies for all to see. .....”

this opinion piece illuminates some of Galli’s deficiencies for all to see.

I read sanctimonious editorials all the time, and blow them off with a chortled amusement, muttering something about living in a different galaxy than the writer.

But, being an evangelical and having benefited from CT in the past, I find this CT editoriall absolutely vile.

This magazine, like National Review, is now history.

‘Unfathomable’: Rev. Franklin Graham slams Christianity Today for demanding Trump’s removal
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/20/2019 | Jon Brown
Posted on 12/20/2019, 5:28:58 AM by SeekAndFind

Evangelist Franklin Graham tore into the magazine his father founded after the flagship evangelical publication called for President Trump to be removed from office.

In a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday night, Graham wrote, “Christianity Today released an editorial stating that President Trump should be removed from office, and they invoked my father’s name (I suppose to try to bring legitimacy to their statements), so I feel it is important for me to respond.”

Conceding that his father helped establish the periodical in 1956, Franklin Graham maintained that Billy Graham, who died in 2018 at age 99, would not countenance the viewpoints espoused by the editorial board against the president. “Yes, my father Billy Graham founded Christianity Today,” Graham wrote, “but no, he would not agree with their opinion piece. In fact, he would be very disappointed.”

Revealing that the last vote his father cast was for Trump, Franklin went on to claim that Billy Graham “knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump, and he voted for Donald Trump. He believed that Donald J. Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation.”

“For Christianity Today to side with the Democrat Party in a totally partisan attack on the President of the United States is unfathomable,” Graham continued. He pointed to the lopsided vote in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, in which no Republican voted in favor of impeachment. “I know a number of Republicans in Congress, and many of them are strong Christians,” said Graham. “If the President were guilty of what the Democrats claimed, these Republicans would have joined with the Democrats to impeach him.”

“This impeachment was politically motivated, 100% partisan,” Graham asserted. “Why would Christianity Today choose to take the side of the Democrat left whose only goal is to discredit and smear the name of a sitting president?” Graham closed out his statement by saying that Christianity Today “has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism.”

Graham then cited Trump’s accomplishments for people of faith, such as opposing abortion and mitigating the reach of ISIS. Graham has been a staunch supporter of the president and has claimed that “a demonic power” is fueling the fury behind impeachment and the political turmoil roiling the nation.

Here is the tell that colors the entire sordid piece:

"We want CT to be a place that welcomes Christians from across the political spectrum, and reminds everyone that politics is not the end and purpose of our being. We take pride in the fact, for instance, that politics does not dominate our homepage."

This is, simply stated, a lie. What he/they have done is to sacrifice who they were and what they represented in order to placate or pander to leftists. My brother saw this exact statement made by his pastor immediately before that pastor revealed that he was making their church a sanctuary for the alphabet gang and that he would no longer minister to conservatives (his exact wording).

For anyone to take this stance reveals that they have chosen to turn their head away from God. He is now lost and incapable of leading anyone anywhere but equally astray.

Makes you wonder if there isn’t a LBT.... element over at Christianity Today.

Those who can HATE that much usually have a abnormal bent.

The writer praises the dems... does he know that they kicked God out of their platform and party.

I think Mr Galli is a phony.

This should help us understand the magazine’s position.

Why a ‘yes’ to gays is often a ‘no’ to evangelicalism (COMMENTARY)

Washington Post June 10, 2015

A less-noted, though more consequential, announcement came later Monday. David Neff, who retired in 2012 as editor of evangelicalism’s flagship magazine, Christianity Today, agreed with Campolo’s affirmation of gay Christians.

Neff’s announcement required a rapid response from the evangelical establishment in a way Campolo’s did not. Had Christianity Today’s position changed? Is Neff still an evangelical in good standing?

Christianity Today editor Mark Galli reassured readers Tuesday that the magazine still considers same-sex sexual expression sinful and believes marriage is by nature between a man and a woman.

“We at CT are sorry when fellow evangelicals modify their views to accord with the current secular thinking on this matter,” he wrote.

Galli said that Neff had enlisted “in a cause we believe is ultimately destructive to society.” He could have explicitly rebuked his predecessor, but instead said he does not feel compelled to distance himself from Neff.

The Rev. Albert Mohler, president of Louisville’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said Galli’s kinder, gentler condemnation made no sense.

Congratulations, CT: in the name of ‘Christianity’, you’ve now (more fully) aligned yourself with a crowd whose sworn duties involve anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-Life activities. These are the enemies of Biblical Christianity.

This isn’t about whether we have a perfect President... there isn’t such a thing. This is about who you stand with: Christ or the enemies of Christ.
