This week evangelical pastor John MacArthur haughtily told Beth Moore to, “Go home,” when questioned regarding his thoughts about her. Then, as if this heartless comment wasn’t cringe-worthy enough, he compared Beth Moore’s sacred ministry call to that of a salesperson peddling jewelry on television.
Here’s the thing: MacArthur’s stinging discourse regarding Beth Moore, wasn’t really about Beth Moore. He was disparaging every woman who has ever answered the call to ministry. In one clean swoop, he maligned Huldah, Deborah, Miriam, Priscilla, Phoebe, and Junia … and you. John MacArthur owes you an apology.
But a far weighty matter is that MacArthur’s attack against Beth Moore constituted an attack against the character of God. When the enemy uses someone to devalue either gender, it is an attempt to diminish the power of the cross and dilute the blood of Jesus. Both genders are made in the image of God; it is God who places and empowers women in positions of biblical leadership.
While it remains to be seen if John MacArthur will ever apologize to Beth Moore, or ask forgiveness of Almighty God, you deserve an apology. Someone needs to acknowledge the hurt, pain, lies, and injustices you have withstood at the hand of the enemy. And let that someone be me.
Women in ministry, I profusely apologize to you for the actions and words of John MacArthur and anyone else who has ever opposed God’s call on your life.
I’m sorry so for any discouragement you have received. I’m sorry if you have been discounted, overlooked, or made to feel like a leper. I’m sorry for every critical stone that has been hurled your way.
I’m also sorry that entire church doctrines have been written to preclude you from ministry. I’m sorry if you have been erroneously taught that women are God’s fallback option if a man isn’t willing or available. I’m sorry for all the times you had to stop advancing the Kingdom in order to answer your faultfinders.
I’m deeply sorry for the pain, rejection, and loneliness you have endured. I’m sorry if your gifts and talents have lain dormant. I’m sorry for all of the wasted time. I’m sorry for the souls that haven’t been won.
I’m profoundly sorry if needed ministry support has been sorely lacking. I’m sorry if no one pours into you. I’m sorry if you’ve had to encourage yourself in the Lord again and again out of necessity. I’m sorry you have to navigate through major ministry problems alone.
I’m sorry. I’m so very, very sorry. From the bottom of this female minister’s heart, I am genuinely sorry.
And now I affirm that there is a call on your life and a destiny God has called you to fulfill. I affirm that you are loaded with gifts, talents, anointings, and mantles. I affirm that you were born with a purpose to fulfill. And that your very existence on this earth proves there is something God wants to accomplish through you.
I affirm that there are people God has called you to reach with the Gospel. I affirm that God will prepare you, equip you, and launch you in the place of ministry to which you have been called. I affirm that you are God’s first choice for the ministry to which you are called.
I affirm that God will help you answer His call on your life. He will perform miracles, open doors, part rivers, and move mountains on your behalf. He will blast through every obstacle the enemy places in your path to hinder you from answering His call on your life.
Yes, you have been hurt, discouraged, and disappointed, but God doesn’t waste pain. He will use you to minister salvation and healing to the lost and broken, utilizing everything you have been through.
Oh, and, John MacArthur, we forgive you, for you know not what you do.

It was a panel discussion where Todd Friel gave him two words to which he was to respond with two words. He gave a very succinct and Biblical response. I honor that man.
Since the New Testament is the basis for Christianity, as Christians should we not adhere to all of the Scriptures? Corinthians 14:34
34Women f should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:12-14 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
“That is because God hasn’t called any woman to be a pastor.”
When someone says that they are calledd of God, how are we to know they are truly called of God instead of having a false calling not from God?
All that came later. She had the first ‘church’ as it were; they read Paul’s letters, sang some Psalms. It wasn’t until much much later that guys entered into the picture and took over.

There are at least two standards.
1 - Does their calling align with what Scripture teaches? If not, run away. Women pastors? Against scripture.
2 - “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” - Jesus (Matthew 7)
Once more by attempting to support women pastors, a author (Jamie Morgan is lead pastor of Life Church) provides testimony against this being allowed.
For her argument is fallacious, arguing that making positional distinctions in service is contrary to both genders being are made in the image of God and redeemed by Christ, but which distinctions are the very thing that God ordained. Thus this women preacher judges God as diminishing the power of the cross and diluting the blood of Jesus. Which is blasphemous.
The fact that male and female were made in the image of God and redeemed by Christ, transcending racial boundaries (Colossians 3:11) is not contrary to positional distinctions. Nor are positional distinctions contrary to essential equality.
For both the Father, Son and Spirit are God by nature, and husbands and wives are both human by nature,
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Corinthians 11:3)
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. (1 Corinthians 11:7-10; cf. Isaiah 6:1-3)
Note here that the distinction is based upon creation, not culture.
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” (Eph. 5:22-25).
Thus nowhere do we see female priests in the OT or female apostles in the NT (do not even try to assert otherwise), nor female pastors, against which we are taught,
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. (1 Timothy 2:11-15)
While "silence" need not mean dead silence, but a degree of quietness, (Acts 22:2; 2Thes. 3:12) yet it excludes females from occupying the position of teachers in the congregation. They can assist however, in personal disciplining under their husband/head (Acts 18:26) who would be the authoritative teacher.
As said in an extensive examination of women preacher polemics (by the grace of God),
Born-again men and women are both heirs of the grace of life, (1 Peter 3:7) and the church is to harmoniously pray and worship together, (Act 2:14; 4:24) and both will be rewarded according to their own labor. (1Cor. 3:8). Men and women are both given certain spiritual gifts (1Cor. 12), and women can lead women in singing. (Exo. 15:20), and may share what God has revealed, but only in a manner and context which clearly signifies her submission to the male. (see Acts 21:9; 18:24-26; 1Cor. 11:4,5) They can publicly tell others about Christ, (Lk. 2:36-38; Jn. 4:28,29), and support those who work in ministry, (Lk. 8:3; Phil. 4:3). can even help to personally disciple a man, such as in a home, with and under their husband or father. (Acts 18:24-26) Mature Godly women can teach other women, (Titus 2:3-5), and women can also work hard in secular business, (Prov. 31; Acts 16:14) with all propriety, but are never to have authority or rule over men (1Cor. 14:34,35; 1Tim. 2:11-15) except perhaps in instances of extraordinary necessity (Judges 4:1-5).
However, today submission is seen as an unclean thing, yet just as in the Godhead, so in the church and home God has established and upheld positional/functional distinctions between males and females from the beginning
I usually listen to MacArthur when i remember he is one the radio, and have downloaded most of his sermons going back to 1978, and he is a gifted holy and substantive teacher. However, his broad-brush damnation of Pentecostalism, even targeting Calvary Chapel (whose leader he used to commend) is not of God. Nor is much of what is seen in Pentecostalism. However, MacArthur throws the whole of it under the bus, as if it was Mormonism. When or before he sees at the judgment seat of Christ that most of the redeemed in the past 100 years are from Pentecostalism then he will have a different opinion.

I disagree with MacArthur on gifts - although I’m not a pentacostal - and I disagree with his Calvinism. But we don’t need to agree on everything.
Beth Moore seems to have started off teaching women - which is fine - but then decided to ignore the clear statements of scripture and decided God wanted her instructing men. AND began talking about God giving her personal instruction meant to be passed on to the church. Uh-oh.
Also, I think women overall are too easily given to talk. Often fast.
What Paul specifically said was he “never allowed women to teach men”. I Timothy 2:12
Moore to my knowledge has never tried to claim and ministry over men. If men choose to attend her conferences, it is their choice.
