SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WYFF) A pastor who pleaded guilty to child sex charges will spend the next decade in prison.
The victim says she became pregnant twice by 32-year-old Phillip Buckson and had abortions to terminate the pregnancies.
According to the South Carolina Attorney Generals Office, Buckson, pleaded guilty to this week to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor 11 to 14 years old in Spartanburg County.
He was sentenced to 20 years, suspended to 10 years and 5 years of probation, must register as a sex offender, and can have no contact with the victim. Two charges were dismissed.
Buckson was a former senior pastor at Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church and attended Spartanburg Methodist College, according to the church website.
Buckson served as one of the coordinators for the Cherokee County School Curriculum Council, the website says. He previously served as pastor at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Iva.

Learned of this from Tommy. This is his take of this story from here: Warning language. https://tjskoc.com/phillipjbuckson/
People like that should be executed, not just put in jail.
Apparently law enforcement only became aware of the situation after the second abortion.
13 year olds can’t get an aspirin without their parents permission, but anyone willing to pay can take her to an abortion clinic.
Was the Preacher paying (or laying) the mother to allow him access to the 13 y/o? For this to happen more than once, seems to indicate he had cooperation.
then they should be charged with accessory to rape.
11-14? That’s bad
Not much of a pastor and not much of a Christian.
Matthew 18:6
Yeah, that's almost as ridiculous as twenty years with ten years suspended and five years probation plus registered as a sex offender...........now that's ridiculous.
If I was the girls father this 'pastor' wouldn't have had to serve one minute of jail time, not even a second!
I will bet you that they let this piece of.....work out in two years or less and that within a year of release he's working as a youth 'pastor' somewhere.
South Carolina, Eh? Aren't there swamps, bayous and hog farms a plenty in South Carolina?
100%... feed it to the pigs

She killed both babies. Thats the true sin
Law enforcement can only charge for crimes on the statute books, that courts will enforce. From the dawn of civilization until 1972 abortion was universally seen as murder.
The person to takes a girl to the clinic may not be the perpetrator, it may be an aunt, or a male relative, or a family friend. But when a 30 year-old man brings a 13 year old girl to an abortion clinic it should raise suspicions. Most clinic workers don’t want to upset the apple cart by getting facilitators in trouble, I fear.
Hell last about about 6 months in prison.
