Of course; if one has no TR card anyway; who gives a rat's patootie? ;^)

Speaking of Temple Recommends; I've been trying to find out just when the changes in the questions take place.

I've not found much at all that actually SHOWS the process of this action.

For instance, we have the Old questions and the New questions; but surely there must be SOME documentation somewhere that explains how, why and when they took place.

I'd appreciate any input on this.

“Speaking of Temple Recommends; I’ve been trying to find out just when the changes in the questions take place.”

Here is a good place to start.

Nice twist of the truth to create a false impression. Pretending that I cannot agree with you about”ABORTION kills that many EVERY day!” Just because you disagree with me about the nature of Heavenly Father and His son Jesus the Christ.

Pretending that I cannot agree with you about”ABORTION kills that many EVERY day!”

I did not come up with the words on the TR.

Mormons did.

Here is the FACT:

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

It did NOT state anything other than AGREE WITH.

I'm the INDIVIDUAL and my teachings and practices ARE contrary to MormonISM.

That you've pointed out the illogic of the TR question should concern you.

BTW; the whole thing was meant to be a joke anyway.

You must have a current TR card or else you probably would not have gotten so upset with my crudeness.

It does NOT read thus:

Wow!

That loaded up a lot of my memory!!

I see from page 136 to 172 a LOT of stuff about the TR and it’s questions; but it seems to me that the goal posts were constantly moving.

I’d think that if these questions are so important; they’d be found in LDS scripture, and not in the footnotes and writings of the history of the church.

This is why (one of the reasons) I am not a Catholic.

For they have added so much stuff to the practice of their religion that are NOT found in the Scriptures. If they were THAT important; they’d BE in the Bible!

“It does NOT read thus:”

Just another outsider saying it should mean something they want it to say.

Another example of of an outsider trying to tell us how to do it.
Not our defination of scriptures. For us, the cannon of the Bible is not the end of God’s Word. Heavenly Father does not only rely on the part of His teachings in the Bible. He continues to teach us, even today.

It is going to take a lot more memory when you choose to learn more then the sound bites you use as proof.

Just another outsider saying it should mean something they want it to say.

I'm merely guessing; so; do you, or do you not have a valid TR card?

(Use your own words to eliminate any Elsie induced confusion among the lurkers.)

Hebrews 12:1   King James Bible
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Have you considered the fact that YOUR leaders have said WE did it all wrong?

Does that ring ANY bells in your mind?

Heavenly Father does not only rely on the part of His teachings in the Bible.

That's good!

The Doctrine and Covenants

Section 15

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to John Whitmer, at Fayette, New York, June 1829 (see the heading to section 14).

The message is intimately and impressively personal in that the Lord tells of what was known only to John Whitmer and Himself.

John Whitmer later became one of the Eight Witnesses to the Book of Mormon.

1–2, The Lord’s arm is over all the earth; 3–6, To preach the gospel and save souls is the thing of most worth.

Hearken, my servant John, and listen to the words of Jesus Christ, your Lord and your Redeemer.

For behold, I speak unto you with sharpness and with power, for mine arm is over all the earth.

And I will tell you that which no man knoweth save me and thee alone

For many times you have desired of me to know that which would be of the most worth unto you.

Behold, blessed are you for this thing, and for speaking my words which I have given unto you according to my commandments.

And now, behold, I say unto you, that the thing which will be of the most worth unto you will be to declare repentance unto this people, that you may bring souls unto me, that you may rest with them in the kingdom of my Father. Amen.

Section 16

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to Peter Whitmer Jr., at Fayette, New York, June 1829 (see the heading to section 14).

Peter Whitmer Jr. later became one of the Eight Witnesses to the Book of Mormon.

1–2, The Lord’s arm is over all the earth; 3–6, To preach the gospel and save souls is the thing of most worth.

Hearken, my servant Peter, and listen to the words of Jesus Christ, your Lord and your Redeemer.

Amen.

Section 14

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to David Whitmer, at Fayette, New York, June 1829. The Whitmer family had become greatly interested in the translating of the Book of Mormon. The Prophet established his residence at the home of Peter Whitmer Sr., where he dwelt until the work of translation was carried to completion and the copyright on the forthcoming book was secured. Three of the Whitmer sons, each having received a testimony as to the genuineness of the work, became deeply concerned over the matter of their individual duty. This revelation and the two following (sections 15 and 16) were given in answer to an inquiry through the Urim and Thummim. David Whitmer later became one of the Three Witnesses to the Book of Mormon.

Is yours an offshoot of the Catholic religion??? They make the same claim...In fact, so do the Izlamaniacs...How do you determine which one is the 'one, true religion'???

This Kingdom is not an earthly political power - as Jesus Himself said "My Kingdom is not of this earth"

Well of course it is...What do you think the entire Old Testament is about??? It's about a large chunk of promised land with a King/Messiah ruling over it...It's called the Kingdom of Heaven...

Joh_18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

But it certainly will be...

What do you think the 2nd Coming of Jesus is all about??? Why is Jesus going to show up a 2nd time??? Do you have any idea???

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

That's a physical kingdom right there...And for you Catholics that think you know something about the Trinity, you might want to notice that the Son IS the Father, the Everlasting God...

Is yours an offshoot of the Catholic religion???

Well...

Mormonism

  • claims itself to uniquely be "the Church"
  • claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
  • adds to the Holy Bible (with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price)
  • accepts multiple satanic visions as being from God
  • undermines the power of Jesus' blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
  • sings praise songs about Joseph Smith, Jr.
  • has strange doctrines regarding marriage (polygamy accepted in early days)
  • believes in God the mother (who has conceived multitudes of spirit children)
  • claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
  • redefines "saint" to mean a living, breathing Mormon, instead of a bible-defined child of God
  • accepts and spreads "another gospel" (Gal. 1:8,9)- good works, water baptism and church membership
  • professes itself as Christian; Jesus as God, Savior, Lord and Son of God; Jesus' atoning death and resurrection
  • doctrines are sending millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture

Catholicism

  • claims itself to uniquely be "the Church"
  • claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
  • adds to the Holy Bible (with sacred tradition)
  • accepts multiple apparitional visions as being from God's Mother
  • undermines the power of Jesus' blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
  • sings praise songs about Mary
  • has strange doctrines regarding marriage (celibacy still practiced among its clergy)
  • believes in the mother of God (who is the sinless Queen of Heaven)
  • claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
  • redefines "saint" to mean a physically dead Catholic who was afterwards "canonized," instead of a bible-defined child of God
  • accepts and spreads "another gospel" (Gal. 1:8,9) - good works, the sacraments, Mary and church membership
  • professes itself as Christian; Jesus as God, Savior, Lord and Son of God; Jesus' atoning death and resurrection
  • doctrines are sending hundreds of millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture
  • teaches and practices bowing before and kissing statues
  • WORSHIPS the consecrated communion wafer as God
  • claims Mary is their life, sweetness, hope and most gracious advocate (as revealed in the Rosary)
  • claims Mary was raised bodily into Heaven
  • claims they get to Jesus by first going to Mary

The old testament is the old. Jesus set up His heavenly, spiritual kingdom, defeating the dragon as we see in the book of the apocalypse.

And that spiritual Kingdom of God is the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic church.

I’d suggest you read the gospels
