There are many differences between Protestants and Catholics...but at the heart of it, is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you might tune out the Catholic bashers and listen to Catholic radio or ask questions of a Priest. Education does a lot to eliminate prejudices and there is no question that there is prejudice against Catholics from Protestants.

I have educated myself on Roman Catholicism through independent study and interactions with Roman Catholics on these forums.

Below is the concluding sentence in what is called Unam Sanctam. It was issued by Pope Boniface VIII in 1302.

Roman Catholics have to believe this.

They have no choice in the matter.

Some will try to say it doesn't mean what it says.

Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.

This is but one of the examples of how Roman Catholicism contradicts the New Testament.

I've not heard that one time. This is what I believe: The Lord looks upon the heart and it is He that is the ultimate judge.

I'm not looking to argue with you but as I said in my initial post there are lies and myths, perpetuated by Protestants, regarding Catholicism. One of those myths is (and it's always stated as a blanket statement)that Catholics are going to hell for their worship of Mary and idol worship etc etc. But they are not worshiping her above Christ. They do revere her but not above Jesus.

I will never stand silent again when I hear a Protestant degrading the Catholic faith. It's not right.

It's kinda hard to hang around here for 10 years (or more) and NOT figure out what is going on with Catholicism.
