If a guy cant control himself seeing some “shoulder” then he is a step away from sex offender status :)

This is so backwards I had to check twice to make sure a muzzie didnt say it.

Maybe the priest CAN’T TAKE seeing ANYTHING besides a woman’s face.

If that is the case, he went into the wrong business.

Miniskirts are a little over the top.

But when I was young I wore sleeveless shirts to church because YES, a church is a gathering place to worship AND as you get older, a place to meet a potential partner to share a common faith and love.

If that wasn’t mushy I don’t know what is! :)

Believe it or not, the Catholic Church has a dress code. No bare shoulders means no cleavage, halter tops, spaghetti straps. Also no shorts, and no pants for women. People tell me this is fully enforced in Rome although that was before Francis. Many rural parishes in my diocese offer shawls for offenders, and believe it or not, by Church law, you can be refused Communion if you’re not dressed modestly. You come to church to worship the Most High God, not yourself, so COVER IT, girls!!!

This has happened a few times in my Church. One priest said in his homily "Guess what I saw last week in Church, a naked woman!" another young priest was asking women to dress a little more modestly and said "I have eyes and I am a man".

Modesty is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Why would we not want that?

Actually, I think the tweet and meaning behind were far more tempered than what the priest was actually saying.

I seem to think if a priest has to ask you to “cover your shoulders” there may be more hanging out than just your shoulders.

Yes, this is a priest...but he is also a guy. Being a priest doesn’t mean he is immune from temptation(s). And I think it is quite humbling that he asked for a bit more decorum from the pew! And if the priest needed to ask a woman to cover-up, I wonder how many men were gawking as well?

Every summer our church has to go through a short reminder to people in attendance and encourage them to dress appropriately.
