To hell with the Ten Commandments, mortal and venial sin and the Catholic Catechism; it's all about discernment now and the "development of doctrine".

Critics would be happy if we had hung 100 abuser priests in St. Peters Square
AND—Critics would be happier if we had castrated 1000 abuser priests in St. Peters Square
I would not cry a tear for the abusers.
Priest abusers: Jesus said to tie a mill-wheel around their necks and throw them in the ocean.
[Cath Cauc] Pope: Critics would be happy if we had hung 100 abuser priests in St. Peters Square

Well, that’d be a good start.
Either one would’ve been a good start.
I didnt read the article, but the premise works.
I’m actually thinking that it certainly would solve the problem.
How many pedo preists would rethink there proclivities ?
All of them.
I just don't believe him. When he talks about discernment, he means "Don't believe anything I say, it's all subject to change without notice". When he talks about rigidity he means "people who have strong beliefs based on biblical teachings are stupid cavemen and should be marginalized until they are gone." This is the pope of today, he's not even Catholic.
What Jorge Bergoglio has to say about the sin of homosexuality:
Who am I to judge?
Well, it would focus the minds of other potential pedos, wouldn't it?

No, shit-for-brains, I’d be happy if you hung ALL of them.
When the Church hierarchy allows children to be molested and their innocence taken from them, they are no longer have a connection to the Church Peter founded.
Yep, you have to keep sweeping the light under the rug...
But with Francis' "development of doctrine" and personal "discernment", he has a better understanding of morality now:
Homosexuality, adultery - good
Capital punishment - bad
I would prefer that they be castrated, then burned at the stake.
Maybe try reading the article next time. All this means is that priests and religious are supposed to spy on each other or carry out vendettas on each other (sort of like the fictional charges against Trump) and it will all go to the bishop who, if they are politically inconvenient, will punish them, guilty or not - or protect them - guilty or not. But it will never go to civil legal authorities.
So essentially, he has put McCarrick and his ilk in charge of the whole thing.
