Chicago’s Next Mayor Accused Catholic Priest of ‘Hate’

Lesbian Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot wrote to Cdl. Cupich slamming Fr. Paul Kalchik

CHICAGO (ChurchMilitant.com) - Church Militant has learned that Chicago's next mayor, a non-Catholic lesbian, wrote a letter complaining to Cdl. Blase Cupich about the burning of a blasphemous rainbow flag. Less than 24 hours after the complaint, Cdl. Cupich removed Fr. Paul Kalchik as pastor of his Catholic parish.

Father Paul Kalchik was pastor of Resurrection parish in the archdiocese of Chicago. A previous pastor, Fr. Daniel Montalbano, was a known homosexual who was found dead in the rectory while attached to a masturbation machine in 1995.

Over the years, parishioners worked to undo the damage that Fr. Montalbano did to the parish. They did away with the deceased priest's abundant gay porn stash, rainbow-themed liturgical vestments and other items. A bronze plaque commemorating Montalbano was removed from the church edifice.

Under Fr. Montalbano's watch, a large banner, featuring an LGBT rainbow and a cross, hung in Resurrection's sanctuary. Upon discovering the flag hidden away in a closet last summer, the parishioners of Fr. Kalchik destroyed the flag in September 2018 amid intense public controversy. Some accused Fr. Kalchik and parishioners of expressing prejudice against the LGBT community, while others said the flag burning was destroying a sacrilegious item.

Amid blowback to the flag burning — including threats of forcible removal from the parish made by the vicars for clergy of the archdiocese of Chicago — Fr. Kalchik fled into hiding.

Recently, a letter was brought to Church Militant's attention in which then-candidate Lori Lightfoot — now the mayor-elect of Chicago — urged Cdl. Cupich to take "swift action" against Fr. Kalchik.

In the September letter, Lightfoot wrote:

I write to urge your swift action against Rev. Paul Kalchik of Resurrection parish for his hateful act and speech. As you know, apparently in defiance of your direct order, Rev. Kalchik, along with some parishioners, led a burning of a rainbow flag that had previously hung in the parish. ... I urge a swift denouncement of his actions and speech. ... He should not have the ability to continue subverting the minds of any other parishioners, and especially not children. Please take swift action to stamp out this hate. [emphasis added]

Lightfoot sent a copy of the letter to the archdiocese's general counsel, William Kunkel.

The word "swift" is employed three times in the letter, which is dated Sept. 20, 2018.

Just one day later, on Sept. 21, Cdl. Cupich wrote a letter publicly addressed to Fr. Kalchik's parishioners which stated, "It has become clear to me that Fr. Kalchik must take time away from the parish to receive pastoral support so his needs can be assessed. ... I act out of concern for Fr. Kalchik's welfare and that of the people of Resurrection Parish."

Given the two letters and Cdl. Cupich's "swift" removal of Fr. Kalchik, critics speculate there may have been collusion between the archdiocese of Chicago and the lesbian mayoral candidate. They suggest Cdl. Cupich acted, not "for Fr. Kalchik's welfare," but in response to Lightfoot's letter.

It is now publicly revealed that a lesbian political candidate demanded the cardinal-archbishop of Chicago to "take swift action" against Fr. Kalchik for taking a stand against homosexual activism. He then removed Fr. Kalchik from Resurrection parish, which critics say was a gross violation of canon law.

Noteworthy to Fr. Kalchik's removal was Lightfoot writing, "As you know, apparently in defiance of your direct order, Rev. Kalchik, along with some parishioners, led a burning of a rainbow flag that had previously hung in the parish."

At the time of Lightfoot's letter, no one had asserted publicly that Fr. Kalchik acted in "defiance" of any "direct order."

Apart from the above, Lightfoot also compared opposition to homosexual activity on moral grounds to racism, saying, "Racists and bigots have attempted to ground their hateful speech and actions in biblical teachings since the beginning of our republic and have been forcefully renounced. As an African-American, I know this sad history well."

"Rev. Kalchik's current attempts are no less odious," she opined, "and so I urge a swift denouncement of his actions and speech."

Church Militant reached out to Fr. Kalchik this week for comment on the mayor's letter. Church Militant was referred to Fr. Kalchik's canon lawyer, who explained that no comment could be given at this time due to the canonical litigation currently pending before the Vatican.

A lot of interesting information here. It would seem Montalbano’s Schwantz Stimmer had a short in it and it shorted him out.

Pastor of Chicago’s first ‘gay’ Catholic parish was found dead attached to ‘sex machine’

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pastor-of-chicagos-first-gay-catholic-parish-was-found-dead-attached-to-sex

Archdiocese Of Chicago, Catholic, Homosexuality, Paul Kalchik

September 28, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – The last pastor of Chicago’s first officially “gay parish,” Fr. Daniel Montalbano was found dead in his rectory bedroom hooked up to a “sex machine” in 1997, according to the pastor of Montalbano’s second parish in a recent video interview.

According to Fr. Paul Kalchik, the recently-removed pastor of Montalbano’s second parish, Resurrection, Montalbano’s room in Resurrection’s rectory had body-sized mirrors lining one of the walls, and two closets full of homosexual porn materials, which had to be carted out along with the sex machine and destroyed following the discovery of Montalbano’s body.

Fr. Montalbano had been the pastor of the “gay friendly” St. Sebastian parish until 1990, after a fire destroyed part of the interior the year before, leading to a permanent closing of the parish. The priest was then transferred to Resurrection parish. Two different homosexualist groups, Dignity Chicago and the Archdiocesan Gay and Lesbian Outreach of Chicago (AGLO), had used St. Sebastian parish for their meetings and activities with the blessing of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin.

Montalbano was himself a “practicing” homosexual, according to Fr. Kalchik, and had hung a flag with the rainbow “gay pride” colors and a cross superimposed on it in the sanctuary during the Mass after he had first moved to Resurrection in 1991. The flag appears to have been taken from St. Sebastian parish, where it had been used by the LGBT groups there.

Fr. Kalchik made the remarks in an interview with Michael Voris of Church Militant published on September 26, following the priest’s expulsion from Resurrection parish in apparent retaliation for burning the LGBT flag, an act which Cupich had ordered Kalchik to cancel.

Kalchik fled his parish and is now in an undisclosed location, hiding from Cupich out of fear of retaliation, following multiple threats reportedly made against him by archdiocesan officials, who want him to enter a mental health treatment program – a measure used commonly against priests who defy the gay agenda or strongly defend orthodox Catholic doctrine.

Kalchik’s testimony confirms old rumors regarding horrifying death of gay pastor

The priest’s testimony corroborates previously-published rumors of Fr. Montalbano’s horrific death, which also seem to be referenced in a memo released as a result of a discovery process regarding a priest accused of sex abuse of a minor, Jesus “Jesse” Garza, who was sent to Resurrection parish to administer it following Montalbano’s death.

The memo, which was revealed to the public by journalist Rod Dreher several days ago, was addressed to the file, and said of Garza, “I checked again to make sure that he did dispose of everything. Hopefully never to be found, connected with the past or to be used by anyone else in the future. He assured me it had. It was not an easy task. Filled more than his van once. [BLACKED OUT TEXT] did not get anything.”

The memo adds that “He has visited with [BLACKED OUT TEXT] and nothing of this past has come up in discussion.”

Deacons who discovered body told by archdiocesan officials, “Keep this to yourselves”

Fr. Kalchik gave Church Militant’s Michael Voris a detailed account of the discovery of Fr. Montalbano’s body by three deacons in 1997, shortly after his fiftieth birthday. He said that the archdiocese told the deacons not to speak about the circumstances of the priest’s death to anyone, and then held a lavish, three-day funeral for Montalbano.

“April of 1997, Daniel Montalbano turned 50 years of age – big birthday celebration – the former pastor, who was actively gay. And a couple of weeks later, in May, it’s a Sunday morning. The pastor doesn’t come down for the first mass of that day, which is a Spanish mass. There are three deacons there. The priest doesn’t come down. What do you do? Well, let’s find out what’s going on,” Fr. Kalchik told Voris.

“They break the door down from the Church to the parish house. They go upstairs to Montalbano’s bedroom on the second floor. They break into the bedroom and they find this man stark naked, hooked up to a sex machine. And this is in his room with the wall of mirrors on the one side, wall of mirrors on the one side,” continued Kalchik.

“What do you do? You find the pastor dead naked in his bed, you call the police, because this is way beyond anyone just simply saying ‘oh.’ So, police were called, body was taken out. Presumably after you call police, police reports are filed, autopsy results are done, because this is a man at fifty years of age that died in strange circumstances.”

“This is the same man that put that accursed flag up, flag, I mean, depiction of our Lord’s cross, superimposed with the gay banner on it, so supplanting Jesus’s passion, death, and resurrection with something less than our redemption story,” noted Kalchik.

“Police cart out Fr. Montalbano, police cart out the sex machine, apparently to do some testing to see if there was a malfunction in the machine, to find out what really killed him. The three deacons who witness this in the end were given a couple of words from the folks downtown that run the archdiocese: ‘Keep this to yourselves, this has nothing to do with Resurrection parish.’ The same storyline they use all the time.”

“So in the aftermath of his death, instead of simply having a quiet, private event for close friends, family, you know, a sendoff to God, they have a full-blown, three day, over-the-top, wake and funeral for this man in Resurrection church.”

“But in the immediate cleanup process of Montalbano, one of the deacons removed two full closets of gay pornography. Not just, you know, a couple of items, but between videos, and books, and everything imaginable, it was all put into black hefty bags – a sizeable, two full closet fulls, and this is all carted out to some suburban Chicago forest preserve, and burned in one of those super-size cauldrons they have there,” concluded Fr. Kalchik.

The burning of that flag seems appropriate to me. The one point not mentioned was it done in a big, advertised event or just taken out by the priest and a couple of parishioners and quietly burned. I’m guessing it was the latter.

Gee.

A “practicing homosexual” isn’t exactly an example of piety and chastity there, is “he” ?

Much like in the USA, we’re also seeing the results of the seeds sown in the 1960s in the Catholic Church .

Vatican 2 was a disaster. OTOH, it was a rousing success for the saboteurs of the Church. Check out the characters closely connected to Vatican 2.

So now you have creatures like this mayor disrespecting a wounded religion. Pot, kettle and all that.
