Heavenly Father –

We praise You for carving out a free nation in the New World. Founded upon men and women who feared You. And throughout our short history, preserved us during times of peril.

And that peril continues in our day. Relentless attacks from the enemy within. Such as the critic. No constructive plan to solve our vexing problem. Or help, “We, the People.” Yet resolved to tear down our nation and sacred institutions.

Yet You gave us leaders, like Teddy Roosevelt, who addressed the critic. As in “The Man in the Arena” speech of 1910:

It is not the critic who counts;

not the man who points out
how the strong man stumbles,
or where the doer of deeds
could have done them better.

The credit belongs to the man
who is actually in the arena,
whose face is marred
by dust and sweat and blood;

who strives valiantly;
who errs,
who comes short again and again,

because there is no effort
without error and shortcoming;
but who does actually strive
to do the deeds;

who knows great enthusiasms,
the great devotions;
who spends himself
in a worthy cause;

who at the best knows in the end
the triumph of high achievement,

and who at the worst, if he fails,
at least fails while daring greatly,
so that his place shall never be
with those cold and timid souls
who neither know victory nor defeat. <

We thank You, Father, for raising up President Trump. The Man in the Arena in our day. A man surrounded by carping critics 24/7. Protect him from relentless attacks on all fronts. Though the power of the Holy Spirit, grant him Wisdom and discernment and strength.

Likewise, may God’s people continue to look up, not to a man, but to Jesus, our Deliverer and Champion. And may we only boast of knowing Him.

or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,

but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know Me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,

Our nation is in need of You. We are blessed that You heard
our prayers and presented us a warrior to fight for us.
We pray he will do Your will in eliminating the moles which
make the foundation of this nation highly unstable. Please give him
the necessities to erase Socialism, Satan’s curse, from this
world.
