The cardinal compared the World Over host to 'Ian Paisley and his ilk'
Cardinal Wilfrid Napier has denounced Catholic broadcaster Raymond Arroyo, comparing him to Ulster Protestant leader Ian Paisley.
In a tweet, the cardinal said Arroyos show The World Over was like a throwback to the 1960s & 70s when radical Protestants fulminated against [the] Catholic Faith in general, & [the] Pope in particular!
Raymond Arroyo has achieved prominence with his weekly EWTN talk show, which takes a largely conservative line and has been critical of Pope Francis and his allies.
His interview with Bishop Martin Holley, who was removed from the Diocese of Memphis earlier this year, was criticised by another bishop, who described the show as deplorable and fake news.
Cardinal Napiers comparison of Arroyo with former Northern Ireland First Minister Ian Paisley is particularly severe.

Last time I saw arroyo show he was in a pretty good path. This causes me to suspect this cardinal may be a part of the problem/ sickness in the church?

On St Patrick's Day 2013, in a BBC interview[11][12] on the Stephan Nolan programme, BBC 5 live, Napier made the controversial statement that "From my experience paedophilia is actually an illness, it is not a criminal condition, it is an illness." Napier clarified in the closing minutes of the Nolan interview that he was very specifically not saying that someone "who has committed an offence against a child is not criminally liable." The cardinal mentioned two priests he knew who were abused as children and went on to become paedophiles. Cardinal Napier went on to say "Now don't tell me that those people are criminally responsible like somebody who chooses to do something like that. I don't think you can really take the position and say that person deserves to be punished. He was himself damaged

I don't think you can really take the position and say that person deserves to be punished. He was himself damaged." Michael Walsh, a biographer of Pope John Paul II stated that at one time this was the view of many Catholics in the US and UK.[11] Barbara Dorries from Chicago-based Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests and, herself a victim of sex abuse from a priest when she was a child told the BBC: "If it is a disease that's fine, but it's also a crime and crimes are punished, criminals are held accountable for what they did and what they do. (
) "The bishops and the cardinals have gone to great lengths to cover these crimes to enable the predators to move on, to not be arrested, to keep the secrets within the church."[11] Napier attacked the BBC after the broadcast for being 'sensationalist' and 'putting words into my mouth'. He also added 'I made it quite clear that paedophilia is a crime, and that we as a church have got a whole process in place for dealing with it.'[13] Napier apologised via Twitter for his comments to Stephen Nolan on Radio 5 Live, "I apologise to victims of child abuse offended by my misstatement of what was and still is my concern about all abused, including abused abuser." He went on to say "It's the supreme irony. Because I raised the issue of the abused abuser, I stand accused of insensitivity to the sufferings of the abused."[14][15] ":

How did the Catholic Church get so many truth-fearing evil slimers like this Cardinal installed into lofty positions within the hierarchy?

How did the Catholic Church get so many truth-fearing evil slimers like this Cardinal installed into lofty positions within the hierarchy?Because they look out for and promote each other, and, like all heretics, they are monomaniacally focused on their heresy.
The normal priests have hundreds of things to think about on any given day.
The homoheresy priests and bishops mostly think about one thing only, and they infuse every action and every interaction with it.
Unless stopped, because of the rigid structures of Roman Catholicism, they may very well destroy that body of Christians.

Arroyo often gets two guys on his show he calls the "Papal Posse", Father Gerald Murray, a canon lawyer and priest from New York, and Robert Royal, Editor-In-Chief of TheCatholicThing.org, who provide honest analysis and insights into various activities and pronouncements of Pope Francis, as well as some of these other prelates. It seems that they are dealing with more and more examples of "bad guys" in the hierarchy these days, reaching all the way to the top of that human hierarchy.
(Here is an example on youtube of one of their interesting and thought-provoking discussions from a few months ago: "World Over - 2018-08-02 Papal Posse on the McCarrick Scandal, Death Penalty with Raymond Arroyo".)

So is this Napier guy admitting that Fundamentalist Protestants are more conservative than Catholics?
That's not what Catholic FReepers say.

Those decrying guys like Raymond have been a rather small segment of the Church who thought the spirit of Vatican II would signal their utopian church.
But then, JPII happened. Then Benedict happened.
They thought that all they needed to do was to wait for a pope more to their liking.
Now they have him. But the Omega Point is not unveiling itself.

The Papal Posse are my favorite. I love when they get together and discuss events. Fr. Murray always gives it to you straight. I love them!!

Time for a “reverse Inquisition”, isn’t it? Go after the morally and ideologically corrupted bishops and cardinals for once. Clean out the “Liberation Theology” Marxists who see the Pope as a “good guy” instead of a Latin American communist in a cloak.

That’s pretty nasty, and Cardinal Napier is one of the better ones!

You mean like those Protestants that the Vatican allowed to make contributions towards Vatican II reform? ROFL.
