Here's Sting's killer statement which may explain he does not intend to come back to the Sacraments until his death (as if he knows when that will occur):

And then I love what Pope Francis said about God: he said “God is mercy,” and I thought that was a profound and simple statement that people had kind of forgotten over the years. So with the Last Judgement, if God is mercy, then there’s no judgment at all, just forgiveness. I don’t know if that’s heresy or not, but it works for me.

Sigh. He’s no theologian.

There’s not much point to anything if anything goes. Why not be a Nazi? They just get automatic forgiveness just like Mother Theresa, right? No difference between ‘em if everything is just mercy, mercy, mercy.

It's an interesting interview --- from a musical point of view, it really is --- but I can't quell the disgust I feel, because Sting actually came out in favor of the mass murder of Irish children.

That train will take you to hell.

No mercy for that.

No mercy for that, unless he repents good and hard.

Well, considering Our Lord said: "The Son of man shall send his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals, and them that work iniquity. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So the idea that there is no judgment is heresy. Sorry, Stinger.

If you add a “y” to his name he’s Stingy.

The Police

Perhaps the most overrated band ever along side Cheap Trick.

Well there IS the “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ [as Savior] and you will be saved” thang. Mercy, yes... but it comes with the deal of surrendering yourself to Christ.
