I'd heard about this sermon of his and I think the video of MacArthur saying that a person can take the mark and still be saved is somewhere on the internet. I believe I've seen it.
Without knowing who he was when I was a young Christian, I would instinctively switch the radio channel whenever I heard MacArthur's self righteous, guilt inflicting voice.
Not believing the gifts are for today is a huge error that negates the Prophet Joel and Peter at Pentecost.
P.S. I don't know who this guy in the video is. I don't think it is wise to repeat false doctrine, as he repeats John MacAthur's words and his employee's words... makes for a confusing video... I'm only posting because MacArthur's statement about the mark of the beast is insane.
It is very unwise to espouse/repeat hearsay....
...how dare you!
John McArthur would NEVER say this!
I started realizing his heresy years ago and no longer listen to him.
Never heard of him
Did macArthur say that if one is a Christian and takes the mark of the beast he is still saved...or that one who takes the mark of the beast and subsuquently believes in Christ then that person can be saved?
MacArthur is solid as a rock and isn’t afraid to speak the truth. Looks like a lot of people can’t handle the truth.
That’s Once Saved Always Saved in action.
Isn’t John MacArthur the one who got into hot water a few years ago because he appeared to deny the efficacy of the blood of Christ? IIRC, he backtracked and “clarified” his position, but it’s still disturbing that he’d be shaky enough on a fundamental, basic doctrine like that as to raise questions about it anywise.
Looks like a lot of folks here have their panties in a wad over doctrinal disputes and are failing to recognize that it is not what you believe, but Who you believe in that is the key to salvation.
Unfortunately, that is what causes many to fall away.
Interesting discussion.
MacArthur has commentaries and sermons on the Revelation, available online. These would be the surest way to check his position on this.
You all understand that this topic is not a primary doctrine, so any mans position on it is as important as coffee black or coffee with milk. Wise men save their outrage for important things.
I’ve a lot more confidence in the teaching of John MacArthur than in Jacob Prasch - whoever he is.
Did some reading. Seems to be a dispute over the question, “Can someone who took the mark of the beast ever repent?” MacArthur says they could, in theory. Others say they cannot.
Reminds me of the long fought question, “If someone says they believe and have asked for forgiveness and been baptized and then rejects Jesus, did they “fall away”? Or did they never really believe?”
My response would be, “Who gives a rat’s rear? Don’t do it!”
Jimmy DeYoung and Brannon Howse apparently agree with MacArthur too. SMH...

The Bible is clear on what will happen to those who do take the Mark:
Revelation 14:9-12
9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of Gods fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name. 12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.
The Scriptures call Satan The Accuser of the Brothers.
It appears you are competing for his title with your posts.
“In the latter days I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh...and your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions and your daughters will prophesy”
Wow...nothing there is plainer in the Bible about spiritual gifts and the latter days than the above. Indeed even the unsaved might be influenced as well...I’m thinking about folks like Jules Verne who envisioned laser weapons and atomic power 80 years or more before they were built. We are the salt of the Earth and even the Earth is savored by the salt!
Christ says he stands at the door and knocks...how? By means of the Spirit that has been poured upon all flesh...now to invite the Spirit of Christ into our lives, to “open’ the door so that our inner men can be renewed and then be renewed daily, why that is the finishing work which was fashioned at Calvary and perfected by the Resurrected Son of Man!
