Top Israeli Rabbi Believes Trump Will Build Third Temple in Jerusalem
Israel Today ^ | 3/29/18 | Israel Today

US President Donald Trump's unabashed support for the Jewish state and his public recognition of Jerusalem as its capital have many Israelis electrified.

The current American leader's positive attitude toward Israel seems nearly illogical, especially after decades of far more hostile trends.

A prominent Israeli rabbi believes the reason for this unprecedented (at least in modern times) shift is that Trump has a big role to play in the building of the Third Temple and the coming of Messiah.

Rabbi Yosef Berger is the rabbi in charge of King David's Tomb on Mount Zion, and the son of a widely revered Hasidic leader.

Before he was even inaugurated, I heard Jay Sekulow suggest Trump supports the building of a new temple and intends to see it happen.

I’m afraid most don’t understand that. I’ve heard Christians clamor for a new temple my whole life. I bet you have, too. If there’s a push to build a new temple, Christians should have nothing to do with it because it won’t honor Christ. What need does a believer have of renewed temple sacrifices?

I think he meant in a spiritual sense, like in making the world ready for it, and the naysayers can eat sand.

I wouldn’t look forward to the restoration of animal sacrifice though. For some 2000 years now Judaism had replaced it with prayer. I’d as soon it could stay that way.

All your points are noted.
Maybe you missed the part where Christ Himself talked about the 3rd Temple being desecrated by the Abomination of Desolation in Matthew 24?

I think a huge gold “TRUMP” sign looming over Jerusalem would be more than a little bit idolatrous.

Perhaps you missed the part where Christ Himself talks about the temple being desecrated in the future tense?

When folks start hearing this kind of talk it should make Christians all over the world rejoice because Prophecy is being fulfilled. When it does happen (and it will), it’s one major step closer towards His soon return. And the way things are ramping up these days, He might even return before the first brick is laid.

If you don’t believe in Dispensationalism, then this whole discussion is moot. It’s exactly why Christians clamor for a new temple.

“3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that *he sets himself up in God’s temple*, proclaiming himself to be God.”

II Thess 2:3-4

The command to the Jewish Priests who served in the Temple was to sacrifice animals.

Ezekiel 43:18-46:24 - during the millennial kingdom, a fourth temple will exist, which also involves sacrifices. Start in Ez 40 to see this occurs in the millennial kingdom..

The sacrifices never took away sin. Yet God commanded them.

IF the Saudis agree to build our border wall with Mexico and rebuild (or pay to rebuild) the Temple, the POTUS will not withdraw that few thousand US troops from the fight against ISIS. :^) Thanks Roman_War_Criminal.

It is a precursor to the Return of Christ.

Charles C. Ryrie and “Dispensationalism” is your friend.

That is not to dismiss what the Lord said, just different part of prophesy. Both are correct.

Though the Temple Mount is most likely the remains of Fortress Antonia, rather than the tiny little adjunct that many claim it to be, building there will bring war with the Phillistinians and their fellow mohamedans. Sharing the land that their 'al-Aqsa mosque' and their 'Dome of the Rock' occupies, with the 'Joos', will not fly.

There is no need for a physical 'Third Temple', JESUS is the Third Temple! John 2:19-22 reads:
Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." They [the Jews] replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

IF a physical 'Third Temple' were to be built on the SAME site as Solomon's Temple and Herod's Temple, it would most likely be on the Ophel mound over the area of the Gihon Spring, in the old City of David to the immediate southeast of the traditional Temple Mount precinct. THAT would be less 'upsetting' to the mohamedans. As many Israeli Jews are secular (41%), the location of a 'Third Temple' on this supposedly 'incorrect' site, would not make its construction as difficult as building on the incorrectly named 'Temple Mount'.

OH boy now you done it. I had that very same argument on here a few months ago.

You are correct-the Temple was built in the city of David and NOT on mount moriah.

Like you stated-the site was near Mount Moriah and had to have running water to service it.

Not at all.

That would be the desecration of Christ in the Eucharist.
Read John 6 three times for any needed clarification.

This will eventually happen, yes, but I certainly hope President Trump is not directly involved in it.

Oh, I know why they clamor, I simply disagree with it. I came out of dispensationalism long ago. By God’s grace I’m reformed. It was the study of dispensational eschatology in the 80’s and 90’s that led me to question a lot of what I’d been taught regarding the Bible. And that questioning led me to the Doctrines of Grace, which ultimately opened the Scriptures.
