The Church has survived many bad Popes in our history.
This Pope has not uttered these errors ‘Ex Cathedra’.
So, we retain the formal church doctrine and pray for God’s Grace.
So I guess he was just sitting around quaffing a few adult beverages and comes out with “so, there ain’t no Hell” - so now it’s the pope says that there is no hell and the Protestants say “the Hell there ain’t”
The church of Rome has always had a problem with the Bible. Until recently it was not advisable for Catholics to even read the Bible.
His theological approach is "go with my feelings and make stuff up to justify it". so you end up with "God's not a meanie, so there can't be a hell." Very deep.
This would violate the law of Conservation of Energy and therefore cannot be true.

This does not meet the Catholic criteria for infallible declarations. It’s a newspaper interview not a magisterial pronouncement. That said it is certainly evidence of personal heresy.
This used to be confined to the Jehovah's Witness cult.
Most Catholics also say “the Hell there ain’t”.

No Hell, no punishment, so options are Heaven or just ceasing to exist. No reason to follow ANY rules, Catholic or other.
I ain’t gonna make Heaven ,so a life devoted to maximum personal pleasure HERE I COME!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!
(sadly, in reality I am not Catholic any more so that is not what I really believe).
