8 Reasons Why Trump’s John Bolton Appointment is Causing a Frenzy Among Jews

You may have heard: President Donald Trump replaced his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, with John Bolton.

You may have heard because of the mixed reaction to the prospect of Bolton running national security — “mixed” as in apocalyptic among leftists and heaven-sent to many on the right.

Look no further than the pro-Israel spectrum for each extremes:

“We are horrified by his selection to be national security adviser and believe this move by the president gravely imperils our country’s national standing and the fundamental security of the United States and its allies, including Israel,” said Jeremy Ben-Ami, the president of J Street, the dovish Middle East peace policy lobby.

I was in Temple after Trump announced Jerusalem would be the capitol of Israel.

The Temple is that thing in Jerusalem that was destroyed in 70 AD. I'm guessing this was not an Orthodox or Conservative congregation. (My place calls itself a synagogue. Talk there after Trump's Jerusalem announcement was overwhelmingly positive. )

Do Jews have words to differentiate themselves from each other based on degree of Orthodoxy? I probably need to know them if they do.

God’s “Israel” is not this secular country called “Israel.”

There’s a huge difference between American Jews who are frothing at the mouth libtards and Israeli Jews who are our staunch allies.

A lot of it is rooted in their worship at the altar of The University.

“What have they ever done that benefits us?”

Well, I suppose they could have taken on the Soviet Union and defeated it for us.

Instead, they destroyed Sadam Hussein’s nuclear reactor and eliminated his nuclear bomb program. Surely that benefited us less than ten years later when we took him on the first time.

And then they did the same thing by ending the Syrian nuclear program. That certainly allowed Obama to keep on drawing imaginary lines in the sand.

Someone says they are allies. To me, that means a treaty, and there really isn’t one. All in all, though, I don’t mind the support we sometimes give them.

They are not. Most Israelis love the choice. What you are reading about is from the hard left - same there as here. They will always be in lock step. I never trust what I read anyway.

Israel LOVES Bolton. The liberals in Israel that have been making easy target by the muslims do not.

Their liberals are just like ours: They hate their country and wish its demise.

The title is misleading. "Frenzy" is usually something bad -- a reaction to something bad. What the article says is that the appointment has aroused strong negative and strong positive feelings among Jews.

Netanyahu thinks it is a great choice. Remember, this started a week after he talked with the President about what to do with Iran. It is not an accident that the President replaced Tillerson and McMaster, two pro-palestinian, pro Iran Nuclear deal with two of the most pro Israel supporters that there are. I think it signals that they are about to deal with the Iranian problem.

“Jeremy Ben-Ami, the president of J Street, the dovish Middle East peace policy lobby” is not Israel. I doubt Bibi has any problem with Bolton.

Our local Jewish synagogue is called Temple Name. I've attended services and functions there. I think they are or were Reformed Jews. So if there is one, I presume there are others.

I know officially there was only one Temple in Jerusalem. I got around to reading what I believe is Josephus' description of the Temple and the destruction of Jerusalem. The temple was faced with gold on three sides, and you can imagine what it must have looked like when the sun shone on it.

My friends were pro-Israel as I've been a zealous supporter of Israel since my youth, in part due to books and movies (Leon Uris for example) until I met a FReeper years ago who claimed to be a Russian (don't remember his name) who pointed me in to how wealthy NY Jews celebrated the eve of the revolution. Especially Jacob Schiff who also used his wealth to finance the Japanese war with Russia on the Eastern side. They despised the czar, formed a group called Friends of Russian Freedom. It's all archived or was in the NYT. I will admit I have been upset ever since about their role in murdering the czar and family and communist Russia. But there are two sides to everything, and we can't talk freely and objectively about it..

I didn't know I was supporting Zionism and still not sure what their agenda is other than preserving Israel as a nation which has as much right to exist as the US imo. I just don't like getting into wars with nations such as Iraq and Syria or even Iran who are more of a threat to Israel than they were to us (until armed with long-range missiles and nukes). Saddam launched several scud missiles on Israel during Desert Storm One.

That's why the nations resent us because we favor Israel in our foreign policy until Obama perhaps, maybe some other administrations.

I've taken on holocaust deniers and it's hard to defend now when so many witnesses are dead and other factors. But how can anyone believe they are all lying about it or in some conspiracy? It doesn't make sense even if you know most (not all) are against us politically about abortion and gun rights for example. And our religious beliefs for those of us who are Christians.

“Israel is the only nation God has a covenant with. Folks either don’t know, don’t care, or don’t believe it.”

And they clearly rejected this covenant...

Mark 12 1-12

1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.’

8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner

11 This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

God’s “Israel” is not this secular country called “Israel.”

So many good Christians are seldom taught this in this age of deception
