Or they go to the IHOP.
I’m in a non-denominational church and it’s been growing steadily for years. I believe it’s the most conservative church in our area as far as following the Bible without caving into cultural pressure. Most of the newbies I’ve had conversations with have either been unchurched or are coming from more liberal denominations.
We have some Catholics coming to participate in our Bible Studies, as the whole community is invited and the local Parish Priests actually encourage it. Some have joined our church, but most stay Catholic and just avail themselves of some of our programs. We’re happy to have them.
I’m in Ohio. I’ve had several friends move to the south last year. Every single one of them has joined a Baptist church because that’s all they could find that was somewhat similar.
I looked at your list ( and no, I am not Catholic ), but I don’t see why you have to leave the catholic church to go to another denomination when you can move to a Parish that meets your requirements.
OFFICIALLY, Roman Catholicism does not ordain pedophiles or sodomites ( but they have to know who they are first because many slip through the cracks ).
Also, I don’t think Catholicism considers belief in theistic evolution heretical. It would be an in-house debate where Catholics can agree to disagree.
“Im hoping to go from Catholic to Eastern Orthodox - I fall into the rare group I suppose.”

RE: My question on Tradition Anglicanism - here’s a listing roundup of many options complied by a Freeper - don’t know that all the links are current, but it’s a good reference/resource.

Ugh...
The Catholic church (the organization, not the institution) is such a mess now.
I have been seriously thinking about SSPX, EO, Judaism...
Or just worshipping in my own private way.
In the non denominational Christian Church I attend, former Catholics make up at least 70% of the church's membership. That's not a surprise where I live given more people identify as "former Catholic" than anything else. Catholic churches near where I live have been shrinking for years, non-denominational Christian churches have been growing and expanding.
The church I belong to was about 300 members when I joined. It's now well over 9,000 members / regular attendees. Christmas, Easter and Mothers Day we easily pass 17,000+ attendees and always add extra services.
Your #’s 2 and 3 are typically at cross purposes, the one unorthodox belief goes hand in hand with the other unorthodox belief. Not saying that you agree so no need to be angry, just stating facts. Off the top of my head I’d say try the Easter Orthodox.
Stay and help clean it up. Perhaps you should look up the traditional Latin Mass with the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter.
Interesting because in WNY there are Evangelical Christian churches that are full of former Catholics.
It’s rare to find someone who has accepted Christ as an adult who doesn’t have a Catholic background or upbringing.
If it weren’t for
2. Tolerance for belief in theistic evolution.
7. No Adventist/End Times preaching.
I’d suggest the “Plymouth Brethren” (not an official name)

Judaism is a bit far from Christian beliefs/thinking. However there are Messianic (i.e.Christian) Jewish groups that may be of interest.
A sailor was shipwrecked on a desert island for a number of years. Finally, he got a signal to a passing ship which sent a launch to investigate. The sailor met the launch and brought the rescue party up to his living area, which consisted of 3 huts.
Whats this hut for? the visitors asked.
Thats my house where I sleep & prepare my food.
And the 2nd hut?
Oh, thats my church where I set up an alter and say my prayers.
And whats the 3rd hut for? they asked.
Oh, thats where I USED to go to church.
;^)
However, since each congregation is self governing there's wide variation among them in terms of "Liberal vs. Conservative" outlook. Our church went through a period when the pastor included diatribes about global warming in his sermons and was in general an overbearing pr***. I stopped attending for awhile. He was replaced by a younger and more conservative pastor who preaches from the Bible. Very open, family oriented, welcoming to all including people with disabilities, and very much Christ centered.
Quite a few in our congregation are "lapsed" Catholics or married to Catholics who attend, share Communion with us, but decline to formally join ("Once a Cat'lic, always a Cat'lic"). No bar to anyone sharing Communion as we're all sinners and in need of forgiveness.
OFFICIALLY, Roman Catholicism does not ordain pedophiles or sodomites ( but they have to know who they are first because many slip through the cracks ).
Since Mundelein Seminary and Niles that fed boys into Mundelein were rampant with sodomites and pedophiles and it was well known throughout the Chicago and Rockford Archdiocese since at least the 1960s the above statement is hard to understand.
The #1 reason guys dropped out of Niles and Mundelein was the gay sex at all ages.
To Sunday lunch?
LOL!
I did some research on Mormons who leave the LDS church. I was interested to see how many came over to any of the Trinitarian denominations, Catholic or Protestant.
The sad fact is that most ex-Mormons become atheists. The fantastical teachings and poppycock notions found in the book of Mormon must really turn them off to any concept of the Divine, especially since Mormonism posits a god with a physical body who lives on a planet near a star. The relief felt by escaping the Mormon social straitjacket must also contribute to a reluctance to embrace a different faith tradition.
Teaching that North America was once inhabited by Jewish Indians and Aryan Hebrews doesn’t help, either.
I went from Catholic church to Christ Himself and salvation.
No Byzcath in my neck of the woods.
Yikes! Scary.
I go from my Baptist Church to Luby’s Buffet when I leave.
