The Church of England has rejected a proposal for a new service to mark a congregants sex change but has given the nod to using an existing reaffirmation baptism service, instead.
The decision by the Anglican House of Bishops to reject proposals for the development of a new special service to mark gender transitions was criticised by LGBT activists within the church.
The ruling, revealed on Sunday, comes after the General Synod voted overwhelmingly in favour of introducing such church services in July.
Though the House of Bishops rejects the writing of a new service, it advises clergy that they may use an existing rite used to reaffirm a Christians faith, the Affirmation of Baptismal Faith, to mark gender transitions.
The Bishop of Norwich, the Right Reverend Graham James, said: The Church of England welcomes transgender people and wholeheartedly wishes for them to be included in the life of the Church.

Church of England Sneaks Transgender Re-Baptism into Liturgy
Not that long ago this would have been in a satire magazine
The Church of England shuts Christ out of the liturgy....
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:18
This is my BibleGateway verse of the day. I think it may be appropriate for more than one threads this morning. It certainly applies here.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:12-13
Q : Dost thou renounce the devil and all his works, the vain pomp and glory of the world, with all covetous desires of the same, and the carnal desires of the flesh, so that thou wilt not follow, nor be led by them? How can a queer or "transgender" utter this oath before God with a straight face? I wonder if these clowns ever heard of the phrase cognitive dissonance?A : I renounce them all.
I’d expect no less from a state religion.
Leave it to the Liberal clergy to pick a fight with God.
And for all their mumbo-jumbo liturgys, males still have XY chromosomes.
Another corrupted church, dying the death of a continuing secular, worldly apostasy as led from within. RIP, C of E.
Wizards, warlocks, and witches are welcome in the Church of England.
Satan’s temple...
The Church of England will have its own annex in Hell. They substitute man-made doctrines for Christ’s teachings as recorded in the Bible. They will have no place in the City of God. (Revelation 18,19)
The, “Church of England” aka Anglicans came to exist because the Catholic church taught that divorce was wrong and remarriage was only acceptable upon the death of the spouse, say, they were beheaded.
They have a long history of sanctifying sin.
Born again with a whole new meaning. It’s like establishing a brand new person and instituting a new religion at the same time.
Church of England is really the CULT of England.
I was going to go looking for the words of their baptism/reaffirmation. Thank you for doing the work for me. ;-)
What??? God made the person’s gender. It’s right there in the DNA. Freaks tried to change God’s will and now they want a service for their evil deeds? Try a satanic service.
“re-baptism” why? the “transgender” person gained a new soul during the operation that mutilated their body?
The Church of England was founded by King Henry VIII so he could divorce his wife Catherine of Aragon because she failed to produce a son, and to marry Anne Boleyn.
Henry later became known as the original host of “Queen for a Day”. As in a total of six wives, some of whom lived to die natural deaths.
