The Archdiocese of Washington wanted to extend an invitation to commuters to find the perfect Christmas gift by advertising on city buses, but the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) threw up a roadblock.
The advertisement depicted silhouettes of three shepherds walking at night with tall canes and sheep beneath a shining North Star. Emblazoned across the ad is the phrase: FIND THE PERFECT GIFT.
But the transit authority rejected the ad because it depicts a religious scene and thus seeks to promote religion, according to a federal lawsuit filed by the Archdiocese of Washington against the WMATA.

This nation has turned its back on God and embraced Satan.
Until we return to God, we will continue to decline.
This affects Maryland from what I’ve been told, the subway of MD/VA/DC...so Maryland freak state ping.
You know what? Certain leaders of ours have turned their back on God but I still have hope that the “little people” have not.
As long as the rest of us keep praying and doing what God wants, I sure pray God will spare us.
Washington AC/DC.
Yep. And not even any MAGA candidate can stop it.
The “little people” are lacking in regular church attendance.
They have accepted gay “marriage” and the lifestyle.
They have embraced pot legalization.
(We don’t need one more poison.)
Actually I beg to differ.
Lot of people do attend church just the wrong one. Gamecock here can back me up on this. Two words: Joel Osteen.
Churches like that say it’s okay to be gay and sin? What sin? There is no sin.
Seems like a mega church opens every month and more and more attend. Just love those rock and or roll bands, lights and big screens. Oh how droll.
The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene on Capitol Hill this Christmas season.
This isn’t for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to find Three Wise Men in the Nation’s Capital.
A search for a Virgin also continues.
There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable.
Have no fear, Washington. The muzzies will get wind of what you are doing, and bring to you their very special brand of religion.
Sodom and Gomorrah.
It is not about the substance, it is a about the show.
Don’t ya know...
“allowing every form of speech and display except religion”
Actually, Christianity specifically, right?
I mean, they wouldn’t DARE offend moslems.
Many national polls show years of declining church attendance.
With a pope whose Christianity is questionable, I wonder what the figures are for the Roman Catholic churches relative to the others.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with an ad promoting religion. I presume any religion should be free to promote itself, just as any rider on a train ignores some ads and enjoys others. No ad forces religion on someone else. It offers and the offer is free to be turned down. This is anti-religion, not protecting society.
The Catholic Church is not dependent on the personality of the Pope.
The teachings of the Church have not changed, even as personal bias has created confusion.
There have been no Ex Cathedra pronouncements from this Pope.
The faithful continue to pray for him.
Use Christian hook up ads.
