Started off with the First Baptist Dallas interview of Sean Hannity and discussed a lot about Roman Catholicism and how we should mourn over the fact that Romes gospel does not save. Then I very, very briefly discussed the John Piper thing on final justification. Then we moved to a video from Pastor Kevin Thompson on John 6:37, playing his comments in their entirety and demonstrating that yet once again there is simply no way to read this text without it plainly and compellingly teaching Gods utter freedom in the matter of salvation. A full two hours today, no streaming errors or anything. We will be doing another program tomorrow, same time!
As a recovered Catholic, I look forward to listening to this.
James White's obsessive hatred of Catholicism is a work.
Therefore, James White's obsessive hatred of Catholicism does not save.
By the way, neither Hannity nor Jeffress are Catholics. Why does a talk delivered by a non-Catholic in a non-Catholic church immediately require an orgy of Catholic-bashing?
Try to think of it as one of his hobbies?
You mad, bro? Why you mad tho?
Hannity must have been one of those CINO's before he gave even that up.
Was it during the Lenten season(?), that's what I'd like to know...
No 'Catholics' were bashed, and I can't imagine there having been "orgy" going on --but--- the ism may have gotten a few big 'ol dents put in it. Or more like, the ones that have been there for centuries were again pointed at.
Big whoopeedeedo.
Why you mad tho? Did somebody ping you to this thread?
Ooh. You worship idols?
I figure you’ll say you don’t, but all the idol worshippers say that.
/s/, brother
Kicked it cold turkey 500 years ago.
You should try it some time. Try to quit, I mean. Once you get clean, it can be freeing.
Then get rid of those idols of the Fathers of the Reformation. ‘K?
/s/
Idols? They were heroic for their day, many of them. But perfect? Ha! Those men were never idols, not for me, and not for most Western Christians who hold respect for them (because of the stands they took, and what clarity they brought to complex subjects).
I surely have never sent any prayers their way seeking their own personal intercession. Thus your attempt at counter-comparison misses the mark too widely to be in any real way comparable, including merely for cause of being used sarcastically. In fact, the effort was ridiculous.
But you want to know what Romanists really idolize? The RCC itself.
The Church (and I do not mean here merely the RCC -- but for that ecclesiastical body, whatever members of that body who may be among those He claims as His own can be included, of course) is not, and can not be "the Bride of Christ" and be God upon earth at the same time(!).
Stop idolizing the RCC, and then you could maybe (just maybe, not for certain) come to me telling me about idolatry (and that it is wrong, etc.).
I kicked that cold turkey 500 years ago, too.
Statues, though. Tsk.
And they’re called “Fathers” of the Reformation. Tsk, tsk.
When somebody, anybody starts praying to them — and you catch sight of that, then after yourself having corrected them, drop me a line.
Looks like Catholic bashing to me. Jim posted a thread a long time ago about that.
I have never seen anybody literally praying “to” a statue, painting, stained glass window, mosaic, illustration, photograph, video image, etc. These are, after all, inanimate objects.
If I thought somebody was doing that, I would probably admonish them.
Appears as tho a non Catholic eatin' a tuna fish sandwich is Catholic bashing to you...
Or are you going by what someone else here claimed was going on?
Yet they dopray to the entities those things can represent.
Pagans do that very thing. They know the object is merely representative.
What a cop out.
How's that idolization of an ecclesiastical body thingy doing nowadays?
Pope Francis the talking Francis is making it tough, huh?
James White pointed that out...when he did, was that 'Catholic bashing'???
Go ahead, you can answer for others. Ya'll are all supposed to believe identical things, ain't ya'?
Tuna?
How elitist can you be? Them mackerel snappers are left with the lower grade mackerel. To 'snap'. With crackers.
[psst! if they say "let's do lunch" ask to see a menu first]
