Prayer request
Myself
Posted on 08/19/2017 8:30:20 PM PDT by Jay Thomas
My father has been admitted to hospice. His long fight against liver cancer has come to an end.
Please pray that the Lord would soften my father's heart to the Gospel and wisdom for me to present it if it's God's will.
Thanks brothers and sisters in Christ.

thank God for sons like you. i was so far away from God when my dad died, but looking back, his death was one of the shocks that drew me back onto the road to salvation. i’m praying that your dad meets you joyously in heaven someday, as i’m praying now for my mom in law and the man i call my second dad who are in hospice as well. may God’s will be done.

Joining with you and others to lift up your Dad in prayer. I'm praying that his heart is softened and open to hearing the gospel - an eagerness, even. I pray that whatever walls or barriers he has put up to accepting God's gift of grace will be taken away and that he hungers to know God and His peace that passes all understanding and the Holy Spirit gives you the words that he needs to hear.
I'm also praying for you and your family for strength and grace to get you through this time of sadness and that your love for each other draws you all closer. I pray that whatever reconciliation needs to happen for closure is not left undone.
Finally, I'm praying that your Dad is at peace in his final days and that he doesn't suffer. May he experience the joy of his salvation and be carried in the arms of angels to heaven.

Father God, we lift up Jay Thomas and his family. Lord, we ask that Jay be given a double portion of peace, love and wisdom in You, that he may guide his dad through to the other side.
We ask that Jay’s father cease any rebellion against You and that he would know the joy to be called a child of God. Father God, we ask that this be an opportunity to witness to others in the family or hospital workers that do not know You. We ask that this sad time become a blessing and that Your love, mercy and grace be poured upon the family.
in Jesus’ name we do pray

I'm sorry Jay. I just went through this with my father. I will keep him in mind during my daily rosary prayers today.
Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
