Dissolving Partnership (King James Bible Discussion)

Welcome!

To The King James Bible Discussion Thread

Where we don't change God's Word, His Word changes us.

TOPICS: General Discusssion; Moral Issues
KEYWORDS: kjb; preservedword
If you're a Bible-believing Christian your spirit believes, loves and desires the things of God. On the other hand, the flesh wants nothing to do with God because the carnal mind is enmity against God. Have you ever had days when you don't want to pray or read your Bible? That's your flesh talking. Has there ever been a time when you didn't want to go to church or fellowship with other Christians? That's your flesh talking too. All Christians will go through dry seasons at one time or another in their walk with God due to fleshly influence. These are the days our flesh and our spirit are walking closely together in agreement, taking us through low valleys.

Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Your flesh wants pleasure and instant gratification, it's always seeking the path of least resistance. Your flesh craves the bar scene, it wants to get back to living with the boyfriend or girlfriend. Your flesh wants to watch "The Walking Dead" instead of spending time in prayer or Bible reading. When this happens God's Holy Spirit whispers, "no" to your spirit, but your flesh screams, "YES GO FOR IT!" If we want to gain maturity in the Lord we shouldn't let our flesh drag our spirit into situations that don't honor God. If you're a born-again Christian, God's Spirit convicts your spirit to walk one direction while your flesh wants to walk in the opposite. Your spirit believes God and His Word, your flesh doesn't believe any of it and is in constant opposition to His Kingdom.

1 Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

2 Corinthians 6:14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Many of today's Bible colleges, seminaries and religious institutions are like your flesh, they prefer elevating the ways of this world over God's way. They teach things this world wants to be taught, it's the world that wants people to believe, "The Bible isn't right, it has mistakes, it has errors and you certainly can't trust it." You will never find one verse in all of God's preserved word that agrees with that belief, but you will find many Pastors and Bible Scholars who believe it. It's man's flesh that wants the spirit to compromise and give in to the path of least resistance. If your spirit is whispering, "No, don't go down that path, it leads to confusion" then you'd be wise to heed the warning.

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

If your spirit and your flesh are not walking together in agreement, if they're not in partnership with each other, then that's another thing to truly praise the Lord Jesus Christ for.

Anyone who prefers the original KJV is a believer that God does not support war of any kind nor the death sentence

How else can you explains the Old KJV saying though shaky not kill instead of though shalt not murder?

Read the account of Noah coming off the ark. In Genesis 8:20 he built an altar, sacrificed to the Lord. In Genesis 9:6 the Lord gave us the foundation for government... The death penalty. “Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Then He set the bow in the clouds for a token of His covenant to never again destroy mankind with a flood.

Question: If the Nicene Creed can’t be readily proven with the bible .... and there is plenty of evidence demonstrating the opposite of the homoousis doctrine ....

What’s more important? The Bible ... or the teaching of the Creed?

Speaking to a King James Bible believer you do realize that we tend to be dogmatically sola scriptura? We no use for human creeds - no matter how close they come to ‘some’ doctrinal truths.

Just to clarify for those on the thread...
Teppe is denying the deity of Jesus Christ!

Well; it appears that...

Here is MORMONism's own creed:

Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith outline 13 basic points of belief of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet Joseph Smith first wrote them in a letter to John Wentworth, a newspaper editor,
in response to Mr. Wentworth's request to know what members of the Church believed.
They were subsequently published in Church periodicals.
They are now regarded as scripture and included in the Pearl of Great Price.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith
