A prayer to our savior has to come from the heart, not from a card.

Reading your prayer from a card is a pagan tradition.

Agreed, but the recipient can read the prayer and then pray it himself, from the heart.

Sacred Christian Traditions, though, help the heart to be ever more open to the graces God may will to pour into it.

Sorry that you've got such a stick up your butt that you can't see the good in a Christian witnessing to the masses.

No. There are no “sacred” traditions.

“Sorry that you’ve got such a stick up your butt that you can’t see the good in a Christian witnessing to the masses.”

Sorry you are making this personal in violation of the Religion Forum rules.

>> “Sacred Christian Traditions” <<

Pagan Romans coined the word “Christian,” so I have to confine my comments to those “Traditions” advocated by Yeshua, IOW, the appointed times of Yehova.

None of those prophetic traditions are advanced by the Roman church.

"No. There are no “sacred” traditions.

Yes, there are, for example reflected some of what this priest is bringing to the people.

"Sorry you are making this personal in violation of the Religion Forum rules."

Boohoo, snowflake. You come in looking to be negative and get under people's skin while skirting along inside the rules. You're perfectly at liberty to do so, and I in turn observe that you've got a stick up your butt. Or if I want to stay strictly inside the rules, that "your comment indicates a stick up the butt."

But they are. Most Churches advance some form or other of those same traditions, except those that are built wholly on articles of thought from the loony-bin. The fact that you don't even consider yourself a Christian points that type of "church", so I don't know what else there is to say.

Thanks but I’d pass, simply trying to understand what you were talking about.

Yes, it was in English, but still did not make any sense to me.

I will not lose any sleep not knowing what you were jabbering about...

“The hatred and venom you and others have shown on this thread is so far from Christ-like it is quite amazing.”

Simply in your own thoughts and not mine. I just stated a fact.

These are not “sacred”, but pagan.

“Boohoo, snowflake. You come in looking to be negative and get under people’s skin while skirting along inside the rules. “

I’m pointing out you made ad hominem attacks, indicating you were out of facts, evidence or logic to refute what I posted. I do not care if you attack me. It just shows you have nothing.

>> “ The fact that you don’t even consider yourself a Christian...” <<

With such an abused term as “christian,” one must be more specific.

I am of the Netzerim; followers of the Netzer, Yeshua. Chanukites, respecters of the restoration that the Hellenists bitterly hate and reject.

Rome rejects all scripture and replaces it with man made creeds and traditions. Rome is the looney bin.

The narrow path is the way that leads to eternal life; the creeds and other man made traditions are the broad gold plated path to destruction.

What’s a good way to reach a lot of young people all at once?
Plant yourself at an entrance of a popular music festival with a sign, some free stuff, and a smile.

The opening sentence just caught my eye.

The above is a reflection of the author alone and reveals. This is how the author saw things. It could be an opening sentence for many organizations?

Is there a better way? A way that doesn’t look like the rest of the world?

We might do things to fill the pews. Can we do anything to expand the kingdom? Jesus said “feed my sheep.” To feed His sheep, you have to find His sheep. Not just any old sheep, His sheep. And then you have to feed them. But what do you feed them?

The emphasis is on methodology. Just like in education, teachers just need to know teaching skills, not the subject they teach. In the church, we can’t give what we don’t have.

Disclaimer: I myself have visited a certain Baptist church 4 times and now have a nice set of coffee mugs.

We've been around and around already. You're saying prayer cards, prayers written down, are pagan. Why bother? I don't put much effort into refuting the yap of my 5 year old nephew either.

You need to read today’s Gospel about what John says at the end of his Gospel.

Yes, tradition was passed from person to person, face to face. Not all of it got written down in the Bible.

Remember the Church came before the Bible???? Right????
