President Donald Trump says meeting with Pope Francis was the "honor of a lifetime."
Trump tweeted Wednesday that a private meeting with the pontiff at the Vatican leaves him "more determined than ever to pursue PEACE in our world."(continued)

Bill Clinton was known to approach people he did not like and say, “I like your tie.” It was generally understood that this was Bill’s way of saying “FU”.
The Pope asked Melania if she was feeding Trump cake. Could be idle chit-chat. He did mention “potica” which is cake from Melania’s home country. I wouldn’t want to read too much into such a casual comment — but, to me, it came across as a reference to Marie Antoinette’s “Let them eat cake.”
Personally, I think the socialist revolutionary wants the rich and powerful to be brought down so that the a more egalitarian society can flourish. “Are you feeding him cake?”

It sounds like a dialog that only Melania and the Pope fully understood. It might be that Melania has always been a practicing Orthodox Christian. I can’t find any references if her family maintained their religion and culture in private under communism. If “potica” is a referencing to instilling the values of her upbringing into Trump’s worldview, it becomes a much more interesting question.
