I posted about a year ago asking prayers for my father, who had some back problems, and was facing surgery and long-time therapy. The time since then has been one of struggle for him. He has been in and out of the hospital numerous times, and each time he became weaker. He is now close to the end of his struggle. I got a call last night from the nursing home saying he had been taken to the hospital because he had no pulse. His heart was restarted, but he had two cardiac arrests at the hospital. He is on a ventilator and meds to try to keep his blood pressure stabilized, but there are no real signs of life. The doctor said he doesn't know how long Dad was without a pulse, but there is likely extensive brain damage.
He is in St. Louis and I am in the Chicago area, and will be going down later today.
Dad is a Christian man. He is a proud veteran of the Korean War era and a true blue conservative and patriot. I know he is in God's hands. I ask your prayers for him, and for me, as we go through one of life's moments.
Please forgive me if I do not respond right away or even today. I have a lot on my mind and a lot to do. But I do appreciate all of you in the community of prayer here on FR.
May God have Mercy on your father and greet him in Heaven soon.
Prayers up
Joining in prayer for your Dad, you and the rest of your loved ones. Asking God for safe travels for you
amen
Prayers!
Prayers sent for your dad... and that, when the time comes, you receive a sign that his journey to Perpetual Light was a sweet, short, joyful one.

Prayers for your dad and for you.
That is beautiful!
Dad passed away peacefully at 9:55 central time in the presence of family, friends, and his minister. I am thankful for that, and for his 89 years. He had a very good run. I am thankful also that he was with me for sixty years. I couldn’t have had a better father.
Thanks to all of you for reading, praying, and responding with such kind words, and God bless.
I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
May he rest in peace and may you be comforted and strengthened by Our Lord.
Just stay tough.
I lost my Father in 1978 and it wasn’t easy at all.
My Mother went home in 2003. That was not good for me at all.
God assured me they are home.
I pray that you can keep him as long as possible.
Life belongs to the Lord. Lets all hope he gives us time to deal with it.
my dad was also a Korean War vet.
God is faithful and will not leave you as an orphan. His Love & Comfort to you in this trying season.
Prayers for your dear father and for you. This is the very hardest of times for you, but your father is alive and he is not void, and God is at work with him in ways beyond our sight, right? Love to you during this hard time and prayers of comfort to your father.
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Thy servant at the hour of his trial.
In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
I hope that I read in here that you; too; are a Christian man.
No matter what; many prayers; mine included; are being said in this matter.
Praise GOD for His glorious love and salvation!
Thank you!
I am.
Thank you. I have been very busy, and that helps. Knowing he has his reward helps. It is the quiet moments, or when I walk into his house and he is not there, and is not going to be then again, that cause the ache. I know I have to have a broader perspective, and in time I will. Right now, I am just sick in my heart. There was something I wanted to ask him today, and well..... People here have been great, even friends of his whom I do not know, and that has helped.
