I posted about a year ago asking prayers for my father, who had some back problems, and was facing surgery and long-time therapy. The time since then has been one of struggle for him. He has been in and out of the hospital numerous times, and each time he became weaker. He is now close to the end of his struggle. I got a call last night from the nursing home saying he had been taken to the hospital because he had no pulse. His heart was restarted, but he had two cardiac arrests at the hospital. He is on a ventilator and meds to try to keep his blood pressure stabilized, but there are no real signs of life. The doctor said he doesn't know how long Dad was without a pulse, but there is likely extensive brain damage.
He is in St. Louis and I am in the Chicago area, and will be going down later today.
Dad is a Christian man. He is a proud veteran of the Korean War era and a true blue conservative and patriot. I know he is in God's hands. I ask your prayers for him, and for me, as we go through one of life's moments.
Please forgive me if I do not respond right away or even today. I have a lot on my mind and a lot to do. But I do appreciate all of you in the community of prayer here on FR.
Prayers up for your father. Mr. Mercat and I have had a tough week in that department. We learned of a death of a friend of our son’s early in the week. A 100 year old lady I take communion to died this week. And the saddest was a young woman who committed suicide at 22. That funeral is this afternoon. And our son is maybe recovering from C-diff. Hard week. Prayers enough for all from our God of Mercy.
Sending prayers. May God’s love surround you and your dad at this difficult time.
Prayers said for your Dad, you and your family. May the Lord give you peace beyond your understanding.
If be Gods will to bring your Dad home, know that is only his remaing loved ones that suffer as you miss him. But having accepted Jesus as his Savior, your Dads days of suffering will end and he will enter into the glorious presance of God where, if you keep you eyes on God, you will be reunited with him one day.
Prayers for strength for your family and comfort for your father.

Prayers sent. Please do not think that you need to respond to my post. I know how time-consuming that can be, and I am sure you have a lot to do right now.

Been down that road myself.
Prayers up.
So sorry to hear you’re going through this. It’s never easy to let go of a loved one but knowing that he is a believer should be a great comfort for you because you know you will see him again in heaven. This is why we don’t sorrow as others do who have no hope. I’ll be praying for God’s comfort for you and your family and that you experience the peace that passes all understanding that will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
