Critics of Christianity try to undermine the integrety of the Lord Jesus Christ, declaring Him a false prophet because they cannot reconcile the 'imminent' factor of His 'end times' predictions.
Most Christians are also unable to account for the simple statements Jesus made concerning His impending return.
In my opinion, Dispensationalism's emphasis on empirical evidence and imaginative narrative has blinded the eyes of many believers.

In Daniel, the prophecy of the 70 weeks is not stated as a complete whole but rather as two separate times within one over arching era. It says the 69 weeks, and then discusses the 70th week as two separate events. It is really subtle, so I always ask people to look slowly and closely. That 70th week corresponds to what the book of Revelation, written sometime in the 90’s, describes as the 7 year Tribulation. Suetonius describes in graphic detail the persecution of the Jews under the Emperor Domitian, the increased aggravation of the Jewish Tax due to a desire to pay for a cash poor Domitian who had run away building programs which resulted in one occasion of an elderly man being stripped naked to examine him for circumcision, all this carried out in front of Suetonius himself. This persecution corresponds to the persecution alluded to by Clement of Rome in his first epistle.
All that to come to this head, the division between the 69th and 70th week is an indeterminate time, spoken by Jesus as the time of the Gentiles in Luke. The book of Revelation makes clear that the 1,000 years of the revival of the Jewish nation as the center of the rule of God on Earth will begin at the end of the 7 years of Tribulation. At the end of 7 years, when Jerusalem is surrounded by the hordes of evil, Jesus, the Messiah, will sweep in with His armies, to rescue His people, and establish His rule on this Earth. Maranatha!
I pray that I have spoken without rancor. May I ask something, that before you do anything else, that you take one moment to pray to God and ask Him to help you know what does He want you to believe. I believe that God hears the prayer of those who want to know Him, I believe that God is the God of Truth and wants all mankind to come to believe in Him, and finally, I believe He rewards the person who humbles himself and asks for God’s help.
May you find the Messiah! Shalom!
What a long, long stretch to come up with this one.
That's because the Critics (read skeptics who don't believe in the Risen Christ) and preterists are terribly wrong...I'm here to tell you. It's sad...total disaster...totally.
Here's why. I'm going to tell you why.
2 Peter 3: KJV
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Right on. Certainly good to see that more and more people can read the Bible without blinders on from the echo chamber. Thanks for the excellent post.
The church in Jerusalem was from for Jewish interference from the year 70 to 1070 - pretty close to a thousand years.
Slither along, n00b, you can peddle the sewer gleanings somewhere else.
These Pharisees don’t want Jesus to come back so they rule the roost
Huh?
At least MARY never said how many times SHE’D be back!
Its an unfortunate irony that these are the very ones as prophesied to come in the last days that mock and say ‘where is the promise of his coming, all things continue since the fathers fell asleep’
They are also the ones in the book of Revelation that ‘say they are Jews and are not’
