Sir Roger Penrose and other Scientists Announce Consciousness Beyond the Grave
Christian Post ^ | 11/22/2016 | Daniel Delzell

Sir Roger Penrose is a highly respected English mathematical physicist, mathematician and philosopher of science. He received the 1988 Wolf Prize for physics, which he shared with Stephen Hawking for their work in showing the necessity for cosmological singularities.

But this brilliant scientist didn't stop there. Penrose is now convinced there is human consciousness beyond the grave, and his conclusion is based upon scientific evidence.

As reported by Sean Martin, Penrose "believes he and his team have found evidence that protein-based mircotubules — a structural component of human cells — carry quantum information stored at a sub-atomic level. Sir Roger states that if a person temporarily dies, this quantum information is released from the microtubules and into the universe. However, if they are resuscitated the quantum information is channeled back into the microtubules and that is what sparks a near death experience."

Martin goes on to write, "Researchers from the renowned Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich agree and state that the physical universe we live in is only our perception and once our physical bodies die, there is an infinite beyond.

Dr. Hans-Peter Durr, former head of the institute, has said: 'What we consider the here and now, this world, it is actually just the material level that is comprehensible. The beyond is an infinite reality that is much bigger.'"

Scientific discoveries seem to always be at least a few steps behind the depth of information Jesus Christ brought to the world. Since Jesus created it all, He knows exactly how everything works. (John 1:3, Col. 1:16, 1 Cor. 8:6, John 1:10) And that includes man's immortal soul.

Jesus said, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28) And "whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." (John 3:36)

Jesus also said, "I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life." (John 6:47) Scientists Penrose and Durr aren't the only ones proclaiming consciousness beyond the grave. There are actually plenty of scientists in the world today who believe the same thing, and a significant number of them are Christians.

Sir Roger Penrose highlights near-death experiences in his research. Since these experiences are subjective as compared to the objective Word of God, we must be careful not to assume that every near-death experience provides us with an accurate description of what happens after death.

At the same time, it is interesting to hear some people describe images of heaven and hell as part of their near-death experience. Arthur Veal had such an experience. He was clinically dead for 45 minutes, during which time he describes being led by someone to a body of water. On the left side he saw and heard souls suffering, and on the right side he saw the most beautiful world he has ever seen. Arthur said it felt like he was once again in his early twenties as he took in all the sights and sounds of that incredible experience.

Did Arthur get a glimpse into heaven and hell? Perhaps. But regardless, there is no question that these places of eternal existence are real. Jesus spoke about them so that we would know what lies beyond the grave.

A man in our church that I have known for many years had his own glimpse into the next world. One night when Mike was in high school and still an unbeliever, he had a dream. Mike dreamt he was standing in line on Judgment Day. Each person in line was either being ushered into heaven, or sent straight to hell. When Mike reached the front of the line, he stood before Jesus. The Lord told Mike, "Depart from me. I never knew you." Mike tried to talk his way into heaven, but to no avail. As Mike began to be led around the corner into hell, he woke up from his dream.

The dream shook Mike to his core, and so he asked Jesus to forgive his sins and save his soul. The following Sunday, Mike attended a Baptist church. He came forward when an invitation was given and publicly professed faith in Jesus Christ. Mike has followed the Lord ever since.

The skeptic will no doubt balk at such a story. And I can understand a person's reluctance to believe in heaven and hell. But a reluctance to believe it won't change what Jesus said about eternity. And it won't keep anyone from having their own appointment in God's courtroom one day. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ." (2 Cor. 5:10) The Lord will tell many on that day, "Depart from me. I never knew you." (Matthew 7:23) Others will be told, "Well done good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23) Sir Roger Penrose is convinced there is consciousness beyond the grave. And one day, each of us will experience much more than just a near-death experience. We will literally cross over to the other side.

Are you prepared to meet your Creator and your Judge? Have you come to know the Savior by trusting Christ to cleanse your soul with the blood He shed for you on the cross? (Romans 5:9, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 9:12-14) "Today is the day of salvation." (2 Cor. 6:2) You would be wise to repent of your sins and trust Jesus to wash them away. That is, unless you are the only person on the planet who won't experience consciousness beyond the grave.

I believe in a soul, but his theory is not science. This is gobbly gook “new age” type magical thinking posing as science.

Depends on who “you” are. A bag of bones? Or the conscious experiencer of that bag, who can live independently of it?

Can you prove that one lives and still has experiences after their body dies?
Hearsay or religious stories are not proofs.

Saying the bible is proof is like saying comic books prove Superman,Spiderman and Batman are real beings that are alive.

“You cannot realize ANYTHING once you die.”

There is only one way you can prove this is proof.

“things behave quite differently depending on whether we are observing them or not.”

The “interference” of OBSERVING is a physical event and of course has consequences. Also “observing” requires a sentient being to do so.( or at least an item made by someone for measuring an event)) The actual event, say the collision of atoms occurs whether ‘observed’, OR NOT..

I do not remember a thing before I was born.
I did not exist then. When things die they cease to exist.

You want to know what happens after death? Go look at some dead things. They decompose and it’s the carbon cycle.

It is impossible to know anything before existence and after existence. WHY? because you must be self aware and traveling through time forward as we experience everything as past, even the now. Science has proven that even light hitting your eyes takes about 2 thousandths of a second for your brain to register it and form a picture of it.

It is logical therefore you cannot experience your own death, so all you will ever possibly know is your own existence and to you as with any sentient creature will not experience death, ever, as that is impossible.

“The actual event, say the collision of atoms occurs whether ‘observed’, OR NOT..”

Not necessarily, or the double-slit experiment would be elementary to explain.

You can't prove one doesn't live after death. Look, our sense-based empiric methods of 'proving' things are useless to deal with energy outside what our senses perceive.

That's why spiritual experience is so powerful. It's why trillions of people over time have pursued a spiritual path. There's something there. To one who has experienced the soul or divinity, it's as obvious as the sun. To one who has not, it's incomprehensible.

We're dealing with infinite Reality here. Your pronouncements on what does or does not exist, based on the tiny slice of Reality you currently perceive, are laughable. The parable of the blind men and the elephant comes to mind.

“so all you will ever possibly know is your own existence”
Well of course that is obvious if you are right but no so obvious if you are not right. Not much point in debating the point, death will come enough.

The Bible that I believe says that flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of God. I also believe that this planet is obviously without hope and therefore doomed and salvation is only through Christ’s sacrifice and his resurrection.

“Gentlemen songsters off on a spree, dammed from here to eternity, God have mercy on such as me”

“Baa!Baa!Baa!

You have an extremely huge ego. Your perceptions seem delusional, and you offer no proof whatsoever.

“That’s why spiritual experience is so powerful. It’s why trillions of people over time have pursued a spiritual path. There’s something there. To one who has experienced the soul or divinity, it’s as obvious as the sun. To one who has not, it’s incomprehensible.”

Spirituality is another term for delusional make-believe. It’s basically masturbation of the mind. Have you submitted to Odin as there is proof to him. He said he killed all the ice giants. Seen any of them around?

“You can’t prove one doesn’t live after death. Look, our sense-based empiric methods of ‘proving’ things are useless to deal with energy outside what our senses perceive.”

You can’t prove anybody does!
ANYTHING beyond the senses is totally irrelevant. All you could do is speculate. It could be argued that since we cannot possibly know of or experience objective reality, is this conversation as well as the known universe taking place in a slice of a laboratory rats brain that the scientist accidentally left out and applied low voltage to over a long weekend?

I’ve seen dead people and animals. They all dissolve away and I have never seen them alive or aware after that.

The bible also says that snakes and donkeys talk and you can change goat genetics by having them look at striped sticks!

If this planet is doomed and without hope it would be the blame of the creator for messing it up! Seems he can’t get anything right.

You haven’t actually thought through the Jesus story.
If he was the almighty and came back from the dead, what exactly did he sacrifice? Nothing.
Salvation? from what ? there again. “You’d better believe in me or i’ll fry you in hell, so help me,me.” LMAO!

I'm proposing a different paradigm to you. You're having difficulty grasping it. I'll try to explain it you one more time.

Your idea of 'proof' has no bearing in the experience beyond your current senses. Just because something is beyond our current empirical sensors, doesn't mean it's not real. For example, imagine you didn't have an olfactory sense. You would have no idea what 'smell' feels like, and if someone said they 'smelled' something, you would say they are crazy and there's no proof.

But smell exists, whether you feel it or not. And a rose smells different than a marigold.

In the world of spirit, your own experience is the only proof there is. There are masters and guides to help you navigate that world, but ultimately, you need to feel something yourself. And when you do, you don't need anymore proof.

Quit asking for proof in your small-minded paradigm. You have to do it yourself. Go practice a mystical path, yoga, or give yourself to Christ. If you are sincere, you will have an experience that will make you laugh at your old self. You will realize you are dot of sand on the shore of a vast ocean of knowledge and experience. Or don't even try, seek security in your limited viewpoint, and call everyone who delights in spirit delusional.

So, do you accept Thor as your personal savior then?
If not, why? Odin will be furious at you!

Just because you haven’t had a vision of Valhalla does not mean it does not exist!

Do you see how insane and delusional those statements are?
WHAT DIFFERENCE IS THERE FROM WHAT YOU WROTE?

You don’t have any proof as that would deny needing any faith.

If you think you need the supposed death of a supposed innocent in your place to go to a place you must first admit you don’t deserve to go to,to begin with, while eating the victim and drinking his blood and wearing a Jesus skin suit to fool the idiot god who fails even at recognizing his own supposed son you must have worse morals than satan himself.

Yep. That's what you need to ponder and process.

You have an ability to discern truth from untruth, to experience more than what you allow yourself now, but you will need to use a different part of yourself than your empirically verifiable senses. I recommend you try.

But, you can do what you wish. Good luck.

All you need to do is wish Thor into your heart. He cares for you and if you are a true believer a stuffed animal will appear like magic. If not you aren’t believing enough. Have faith in Thor, you can’t see him with your senses you must just use your imagination.

Good luck is not needed as Thor promised to protect me from Ragnarök. Odin is not so idiotic as to leave my own well being up to me, unlike your jealous, frustrated and angry deity. Odin is more believable.

Since you scoff at the Christian belief in Christ’s resurrection and a new life after death, are you implying that Trump should annul and divorce himself from Mike Pence, Ben Carson and all those “deplorable” evangelicals that supported and voted for him?

Sorry that you disdain the Biblical account of Balaam’s talking jackass but really I have over the years met with many talking jackasses, in fact a lot them can also write on pubic forums on the web!

“Exit polls show white evangelical voters voted in high numbers for Donald Trump, 81-16 percent, according to exit poll results. That’s the most they have voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 2004, when they overwhelmingly chose President George W. Bush by a margin of 78-21 percent. Their support for Trump will likely be seen as part of the reason the GOP candidate performed unexpectedly well in Tuesday’s election, according to Five Thirty Eight.?

RINO Bush played those evangelicals like the superstitious morons they are. You think because I am an atheist I’m a democrat? I don’t believe or support a thing the left says or does. Their god is government.

I support Trump because he’s bright and not a politician.
What his religious beliefs are in his personal life is irrelevant as he has proven he knows how to deal and make money and controlled a huge corporation. Even on his worst day he will be more effective than all the presidents combined since even Carter.

Of course I scoff at christians and muslims as the fundamentalists of both groups are deranged.
The fundamental ones have actually read their holy books are are applying their interpretations of them since they are so vague.

I am more educated than you are. You haven’t bothered to even read your bible even once through.

Just read it. If you refuse to become atheist after reading it there is no hope for you.
