I said to the city, Surely you will fear me and accept correction! Then her dwelling would not be cut off, nor all my punishments come upon her. But they were still eager to act corruptly in all they did. Therefore wait for me, declares the LORD, for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger.
Then will I purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve him shoulder to shoulder. From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings. (Zephaniah 3:7-10)

Father God, we thank You for this day, and we pray that we may see Your goodness in it.
Lord, as Independence Day approaches, we thank You for all who have fought for this country, from the time of the Founders until today. We pray that You would strengthen and bless those who still fight, whether with the weapons of war or in other struggles.
We wait for You, O LORD, for the day You will stand up to testify. You will assemble the nations, gather the kingdoms, and pour out on them Your wrath all Your fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of Your jealous anger. Then You will purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve You shoulder to shoulder. From beyond the rivers of Cush Your worshipers, Your scattered people, will bring You offerings. Although evil seems so strong in this world, and the unjust do as they please, You will bring justice. Your wrath will come, and then Your mercy on all the world. We wait for that day, in the Name of Jesus our Savior, Amen.
