For many, there is a deep-seated political hatred, racism, and bigotry hidden behind the guise of Christianity. And Im tired of keeping quiet. As a person born into it, baptized into itI went every Sunday morning and every Sunday night, and if my mother finished worked early enough, I even went on Wednesday eveningsI should know.
Im not typically one to get into social media arguments or spend hours discussing political and religious discourse on a Facebook strand, but recently, one woman drove me to the point of no return. Of course, it began with: Trump vs No Trump. As per any Trump supporter, her main argument was that she was a hard working American and she shouldnt have to pay such high taxes for no-good illegal immigrants and poor people and their lobster-buying-food-stamps and that was that. Her argument always stopped there. Always: Im a hard working American.

Yes. Memes from the internet. You get what you get.
But to play Devil’s Advocate, Christianity spread rapidly and confidently when it was backed by force (in many cases despotism). Historically, it has degenerated into schism and heresy when the struggle to evangelize is over. Now, the danger is not falling back into some past period of tyrannical religion, but into a wide spread paganism or atheism.
Her first name is Hillary and that should have ended it there. But I forced myself to read her rhetorical and hyperbolic screed. The usual passive aggressive assertions, generalities and the same undercurrent of liberal methodology: generalized and sanitized versions of love and forgiveness devoid of any methodology and pragmatism. Illegal immigration is by gosh, illegal. It is also costly in a severely indebted country, costly in crimes etc. For liberalism it’s all about their feelings though.
“One of the first actions of almost every resent totalitarian government has been to arrest, imprison and execute faithful Christians.”
True, but here is a different story. We won’t be fed to the lions this time.

The greatest spread of Christianity was in its first 300 years, when Christians were all martyrs and there was NO FORCE on our side, .... except maybe for the Holy Spirit.
And atheism, which has been responsible for killing more than 100 million people in the past hundred years, as it became the official state-sanctioned religion.
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

And all quite deliberately done, according to plans set down long ago.
No. It is correct as it stands. It would be clearer were there a comma after “else,” however.
Actually, it wasn’t. Christianity spread slowly compared to the period of it’s adoption by Constantine. Also, consider how rapidly it spread after Clovis converted. Charlemane imposed it by force on neighboring pagans. Consider the conquest of Eastern Europe by the Teutonic Knights and the reconquista of Spain. Finally, the spread of Christianity to the Americas was accomplished as much by gunpowder as by evangelization.
***Christianity spread rapidly and confidently when it was backed by force****
Thew first nation to fall to Christian armies was ARMENIA! then Greece and Rome! The the Christian Armies trampled England and Ireland, spreading with the sword clear to China with Nestorians! Then Russia fell to the advancing hordes of Christian armies on the march!
OH WAIT! There were NO CHRISTIAN ARMIES until the advance of Islamic armies! Only unarmed preachers and priests, armed with nothing more than the Sword of the Lord, the Word of God.
Yes. There ares ome sites I do not even click on. No point. The headline on FR tells you all you need to know about what you will find.
No, lady. Not possible. You were not paying attention.
Perverted and prejudiced Hillary, just like the other one running for President
CHRIST is not ugly. Christianity is not ugly. People are sinners. That's why he came to die.
The problem is that many who claim to be a Christian are not, and the ones that are Christians aren't perfect. And many who are running away from Christ use the failure of other Christians as an excuse.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Some of the time, some of us are ‘cracked pots’, but God continues to work on us.
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Ephesians 4:13
Sad.
She was part of, or practicing, an empty religious ritual.
She missed the awesome TRUTH:
Ephesians 2:8-9New King James Version (NKJV)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith(In the Person and Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ), and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 NOT OF WORKS(empty religious practices AND simply church going), lest anyone should boast.
I agree.
I get the sense that the authors of these anti-Christian screeds never actually talk to any practicing Christians, who follow the teachings and example of Jesus. They just do their research by watching a few egregious Hollywood examples of what they think Christians are like and then make it up from there.
A reminder to liberals the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. did not ask people to turn away from Christianity because of racial intolerance and violence he told them to turn to Christianity in order to stop racial intolerance and violence and it worked.
Yes.
I married into a Catholic family and recently went through classes to convert. The classes were mostly taught by a man of Irish extraction and an Italian lady. There were three black couples taking classes, several of Italian heritage (this church is in a pretty heavily Italian area) two Hispanic couples and the rest white except one man had his wife to be taking classes, and she was from Thailand originally.
I can’t see that it gave much of an appearance of racism. The lady dancing in church when Teddy died wasn’t a racist, and I am sure there were plenty in church and outside who sympathized with her, but that is in pretty poor taste and would never happen in any church I’ve ever been in. Of course I started out in a Baptist church, so she definitely wouldn’t have danced.
This woman and her ilk are so wonderful. She is so much better than the people she criticizes. She must be so happy with herself. I only wish I could be half as wonderful as her. Pardon me while I puke.
