I am letting you be among the first to know. It is true. I am leaving the Catholic Church. I want you to know that this has not been a decision made in haste or without serious and intense research and consideration. But I can no longer remain in a church that I no longer believe in.
Let me explain.
I will be writing more about this soon, but for now let me just say there are five main reasons why I am leaving the Catholic Church:
1. I believe the sole rule of faith for Christians has to be Scripture. The Holy Bible is the only unchanging and definitive word of God that a Christian can build his or her life upon. Everything else, including the Catholic claims to authority, in the end, amount to ever-changing and ultimately sinking sand.
2. I believe works or any sense of salvific cooperation with God’s grace as constitutive to a Christian’s eternal life is unbiblical. “… not of works” (cf. Eph. 2:8-9) means not of works.
3. The idea of Mary and the saints being involved in the salvation of a Christian is tantamount to a denial of the sufficiency of Christ’s redeeming work on Calvary’s cross.
4. #3 can also be said of Purgatory, the “sacrifice” of the Mass, the Catholic view of salvation/justification, and more. These and more of the elements of Catholic teaching result in a denial of the sufficiency of the sacrifice of Christ. More to follow in a more detailed post.
5. What Catholics call the “veneration” of Mary and the saints is actually idolatry.
These are just for starters here. Many of you know that for the last 28 years I have defended the above teachings and more from the Catholic Church. I can no longer do so in clear conscience.

Perhaps you should read Hebrews 9 and 10. They might help you understand the one-time sacrifice of Christ that need not be performed again and again.
I have no idea of who John MacArthur is....none, nor did I ever claim that you are he. However, in one of your posts some time ago, you stated that you were holding a get together of some kind and one of your guests came to you and said "John, will you do....therefore I assumed that your name was John......you said it, I didn't.

All of what you said is true...however, even though God can do all right without the Catholic Church....He chose to use her as His vehicle and that is undeniable. Could He have done it another way???? YES, but He didn't.

The question you would well to seek an answer for is," Would God violate the Laws He authored, on the very night before He went tot the Cross to be the perfect Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world?"
You have insisted that the first eucharist was the night before Jesus went tot he Cross. You religion instructs you that it is the flesh, blood, soul, and DIVINITY of the RISEN LORD which your priests serve up in wheat wafer form at catholic Mass. When did the offering het changed? ... How is it that you believe JESUS gave to disciples to eat what had not yet been sacrificed and has not been resurrected?
Because He said so..."TAKE AND EAT OF THIS, THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.......THIS IS MY BLOOD WHICH WILL BE SHED FOR YOU.....Present tense statements describing future tense happenings.
I can assure you that He does. That is why I am an ex Catholic, and the rest of you are too. 😀😄

Matthew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and handed it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it. This is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, 28 because this is my blood of the newn covenant that is being poured out for many people for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell all of you I will never again drink the product of the vine until that day when I drink it with you once again in my Father’s kingdom.”
The part you leave out is making your posts a great lie, to support the blasphemy of catholiciism teaching sincere adherents that they eat the real flesh and imbibe the real blood of The Risen Lord Jesus. But the lie is easily exposed because this Passover meal was BEFORE the Cross and Resurrection, so Jesus would not have been giving the flesh and blood of the Risen Lord. Does it not yet slap you up the side of the head that the entire blasphemy is based in a great lie that satan has duped catholics into swallowing?
Sad that catholic minds cannot see lies when two are put together by the magicsteerignthem to make a larger lie palatable.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think the Catholics like John MacArthur much. He is, of course, distantly related to General Douglas MacArthur.
I heard a preacher say once, that the less light there is in a religious system, the more lights it has to have, to be palatable.
