There is armed security in my church.
I’m the only one that knows it.

The Pentecostal churches already do this, from what I understand.

Illegal to carry in a church in GA.
Police on site are not unusual.
There may be a “with written permission” exception. Any suggestions? Perimeter in particular?

AFAIK since that Colorado church shooting big churhes in southern California have volunteer policemen with concealed weapons in civilian clothes roaming around the church entrance and inside while church services ongoing. In the church I go with my family I often see LAPDs and sheriff deputies conducting meeting in the church in regular basis during weekdays.

Had a friend at Wedgewood in ‘99 - horrific. I know many congregations since that time have implemented security details inside and outside of campus buildings.

A lot more parishioners pack these days, after all it was the Christians that threw the Muslims out of Europe. Only Christians seem to have the moral vision these days, I just hope there are enough of us left in this God forsaken Nation.

Like Kurt Russell said, let the shooters worry about what is going to happen to THEM should any of us be carrying.

Our large church in VA always has three or four men who stand on the walls at the back during the service. Seeing as how it has a fairly high number of military and ex-military in the church membership, and an exceedingly high number of NRA stickers on cars in the parking lot, this would be a case of suicide by church member instead of suicide by cop.

hit one or two of our churches, attendance all across America would immediately plummet
Sounds like the old joke where the guy comes in with a gun, tells the congregation that he is only going to shoot Christians and lets everyone who chooses leave. Once they have gone, he tells the Pastor he can preach since only real Christians are left.
You are correct, attendance would drop but the wheat would definitely be separated from the tares.

I think the old adage of: “Beware of a Greek bearing a gift” should apply for this one. This day and age, those who trust the Federal Government usually live to regret it.

I carry in my church. No one knows except my children. I’m not sure what the reaction would be but I don’t think it would be good.

In our church leadership (deacons and elders) is encouraged to carry. Our insurance carrier will reimburse the cost of the CHL (Concealed Handgun License) for leadership.

My pastor this summer asked if members would have the courage to come to church if they knew they could be murdered in the pew. He was discussing the faith of middle east Christians, but challenged us to examine ourselves. He admitted doubts plagued him if he had the courage to walk across the campus if it were the case. I suspect there are guns in my church, I know of at least one while I am there.
Christmas Eve this year may be the safest it has ever been in a long time.

But consider all this hype around the active shooter scenario, I find it a bit odd.
Training churches to handle an active shooter?
It is winter, a bomb vest under a coat would go undetected and in a gun carrying church be far more efficient.
So is this training more about federal gun control and ramping up for a false flag incident.
