Our large church in VA always has three or four men who stand on the walls at the back during the service. Seeing as how it has a fairly high number of military and ex-military in the church membership, and an exceedingly high number of NRA stickers on cars in the parking lot, this would be a case of suicide by church member instead of suicide by cop.
FEMA doesn’t need to teach the men who carry in my church what to do in an active shooter incident.
I know who one of them is and that there are more.
It’d probably freak more than a few people out but I know nothing......
LOL!!!!
I think the old adage of: “Beware of a Greek bearing a gift” should apply for this one. This day and age, those who trust the Federal Government usually live to regret it.
Great testimony of Christian responsibility!
I also have noticed that independent Baptist churches seem to be in front on this issue. Could be that the first sign of religious oppression usually goes after the independents since they do not have an overarching organization which can provide cover.
But maybe I am just paranoid?
I carry in my church. No one knows except my children. I’m not sure what the reaction would be but I don’t think it would be good.

In our church leadership (deacons and elders) is encouraged to carry. Our insurance carrier will reimburse the cost of the CHL (Concealed Handgun License) for leadership.
My pastor this summer asked if members would have the courage to come to church if they knew they could be murdered in the pew. He was discussing the faith of middle east Christians, but challenged us to examine ourselves. He admitted doubts plagued him if he had the courage to walk across the campus if it were the case. I suspect there are guns in my church, I know of at least one while I am there.
Christmas Eve this year may be the safest it has ever been in a long time.
But consider all this hype around the active shooter scenario, I find it a bit odd.
Training churches to handle an active shooter?
It is winter, a bomb vest under a coat would go undetected and in a gun carrying church be far more efficient.
So is this training more about federal gun control and ramping up for a false flag incident.
Bleed out.
My church has armed security too - one of them wears the Black “Security” T-shirt and carries his gun openly on his hip....
Trust me. I am the Lone Ranger.
The early settlers carried guns to church. Theodore Roosevelt carried when in church. It is called wisdom, which we should seek:
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”- Proverbs 4:7
At one time, it was actually quite common for people to bring guns to church. In fact, a 1631 Virginia law actually required men to “bring their pieces to church”...
You are to be commended.
Gotta wonder.
"...Just look at what is already happening. Church greeters are already being trained to "feel for weapons" as they are hugging people coming in the front door..."
I think attendance would increase.
In times of trouble, people turn to God.
