What exactly is a "Charismatic"? I may yet be qualified to comment.

I am a Charismatic who has been attending Charismatic prayer groups for some 6 years,both Catholic and Protestant prayer groups, with a few questions for you:
1)Does the Lord speak to you?
2) What is your mission?
3) Has the Lord told you to post these messages of yours on the internet?
Very basic questions, but have so far gone unanswered in mail and in these threads. Actually, this no response pattern is quite unbelievable in my experience.
Well I can give you a long list of what a charismatic is but in short a charismatic believes in the continueing the gifts of the spirit such as Prophecy speaking in tongues interrupting tounges healing the gift of teaching and discernment of the spirit and the gift of Knowledge and so on I go to a charismatic church which is called Calvary Chapel we are practice middle ground Pentecostlism and fundamentalism there some Charismatic churches who go way overboard such as the Vineyards they place way too much emphasis on signs and wonders there’s also the fruads like Binny Hinn and Kenneth Coppland the gifts of the spirit are real but should in line with God I hope this helps you and I hope you can forgive me for the poor posting God Bless you HumbleGunner
The Charismatic Movement is filled with people who hear Gods voice. Sadly its also filled with its fair share of wingnuts who are sadly misled or mistaken but filled with fervor.
Jedediah would be in the latter category.
Anyone looked at that film he just posted?
I’ve been to Vineyard prayer groups,truly a very powerful and gifted bunch. Most of my exp. with Calvary Chapel is that they are dismissive or distrustful of Charismatic experiences. I’m from Huntington Beach, adjacent to Calvary Chapel, know many from there and elsewhere. Just from my collective exp. with C.C, I dont think there is much in the way of charismatic gifts there.
I think dismissive is strong word yes we put more emphasis on fundamentalism but I’ve seen lots of times where the gifts where in full swing I have nothing against the Vineyards I know several who go there and are true followers of Christ I know some who was at the Toronto blessing and had an incredible experience from it so I don’t dismiss it at the sometime I don’t go overboard I’ve been to several Pentecostal churches where things where too much I think there has to be a balance and at Calvary chapel there is just that.
