“accepted” has a very broad definition thats open to lots of interpretation and overlaps with things like “tolerated”
Ask those same “accepting” Roman Catholics whether transgendered boys should be allowed to use their daughter’s school locker room, or whether their Church should be required to marry gay couples and you might find that there are serious limitations on “acceptance”.

I’ve always been in the 30% group and expect that percentage to shrink as the Catholic Church schisms into progressive and traditionalist (the smaller one) factions.

This is simply not true. 70% of Catholics do not think homosexuality should be accepted by society. Real, church-going Catholics believe homosexual acts are a sin and do not believe it should be accepted by society. The polling is suspect of twisted.
People with the tendency are accepted by Catholics but not what they do when they give in to temptation.

I accept that they are perverts and are to be avoided.
Accept the person? Of course!! Accept the sin? Of course not.
One more example of why “Catholics” will do and say NOTHING when homosexuality becomes part of the religion.

Gays should be accepted by society - Jesus told us to minister to sinners and to those in need. I accept adulterers, if they sincerely repent and reform. I accept thieves under the same conditions. However, their perversions and their sinful choices should not be celebrated any more than other sins should be celebrated.
I would have difficulty answering the poll as the word of God tells me I can NOT approve sexual immorality in Romans 1:
“God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same

So I don’t want to approve of this behavior but neither would I refuse to greet them, ride on a bus with them, or acknowledge that like all mankind we are sinners in need of repentance.
It is a strong line between loving your neighbor as yourself and approving of his sinful behavior. As usual, this poll does not acknowledge that line.
