The Pope never mentioned Jesus by name once at the UN.
"Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

That will come when he speaks to the conference on families.
This was a speech for the UN.
(Wish he hadn’t gone there — my opinion.)
There was no mention of Jesus because most of the people in the room, including the pope, “tremble at the mentioning of His name”.
His followers thought Jesus was going to overthrow the Romans and were disappointed, and thus did not believe He was the Messiah. Then along comes the Marxists who want to use Him to overthrow governments.
Here is the text of his homily at St Patrick’s last night.
8 mentions of Jesus and 13 mentions of God.
Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:2

The list has the name "Nicholas IV" (193) twice.
I didn’t type it, I copied it from the site..you might want to look there...
Billy Graham was on Laugh In years ago.
Rowan & Martin asked Billy, “We are a pretty irreverent program. Do you think some people might give you grief for being on here”
Billy, “Maybe, but they criticized Jesus for eating with Publicans & Sinners, too.”
End of the show. Credits are scrolling up the screen. Rowan? Martin? turns to Billy and asks, “Well, is there anything else you’d like to say to all the folks out there in TV land?”
Billy turns and looks straight into the camera and says, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!”
And the program ends!
Ooooh Rah!

The pope is called “holy father,” which God prohibits ANY human from being called. The pope doesn’t have a relationship with Jesus, so he can’t talk about Him. The desire to praise and honor Christ isn’t in him. One day, however, the pope will have to stand face-to-face with the ONLY Saviour of the world - Jesus - and give an account of his life. Did he lead people to Jesus or himself???
Celestine V is one of the more famous medieval popes--he was a hermit who was made pope but was unable to cope with the duties of the office and resigned (the last really voluntary resignation until Benedict XVI). Dante was offended by his resignation and placed him in hell, but he was later canonized.
Welcome Francis into a Long Line of Faith Leaders and Traditions Who Call for Stewardship of Creation
Washington, D.C. Standing in solidarity with their Catholic brothers and sisters, the National Council of Churches and Creation Justice Ministries express excitement and hope for Pope Francis encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si.
Acknowledging that Francis is a holy figure to millions of Americans and over a billion people around the world, this church document has the ability to reframe the debate about environmental protections and climate change away from being political and toward a conversation about moral obligation and right relationship with the Creator.
Pope Francis joins the chorus of religious figures and communions that have spoken out about caring for creation. In a powerful ecumenical gesture, Francis highlighted the immense contribution of Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the global discussion of creation care and stewardship in the opening of the encyclical. Previous popes, along with every denomination that make up the National Council of Churches and Creation Justice Ministries, have stated the importance of protecting that which God has created.
"For many years, faith leaders and scientists have been describing the urgent need for action to address climate change, offered Jim Winkler, President and General Secretary of the National Council of Churches. I am grateful that Pope Francis has added his powerful voice to this cause. God's Creation is at risk and we must all join together to care for the Earth." ..."

Quote-did he lead people to Jesus or himself??
Anybody ever wonder if the Pope teaches and worships ‘another jesus’?
That isn’t exactly unscriptural as Paul warns about other Jesus and other gospels.
big problem is, how does one tell the difference if he does.
oh now c’mon that’s nit picky
the pope did say during the earlier presser with Barking Moon that the UN was the hope of the world..
so isn’t that close ???
There have been very bad men as Popes in the past. They have not affected the magisterium and this one will not either. The bad Popes are the ones fixated on their own power and legacies and exert their efforts toward those ends. They are not interested in changing the Faith. Even if this one tries to Catholicize perversion he cannot make it stick. To issue an infallible statement it must be in union with his bishops. The African and Asian bishops, at least, will defend the Faith against such a Pope. Without them Francis’s pronouncements are the vapors of a politician and nothing more.
I also noticed that, but couldn’t find anything to say different than what was already there.
Just thought I would post this article, because to me, it means a lot...
and with the article that came out yesterday, it really made me wonder about Pope Benedict...because I still don’t believe he left because of his health...
Another question I have, which there are many right now, is why is the Church wanting ‘modern way’? Our Religion is centuries old, it was started by Peter the Great and just because other religions want ‘modern ways’ does that mean we just throw out the baby with the bath water? I don’t think so...these are principles that we live our lives by, and man is doomed for letting Satan into it...which right now after this ‘pope’ speaking here in America, is proving...
His fruit will call him out.
Re: “In reference to my post above on the (far left) “National Council Of Churches” (post 16), here, from their website, is a list of its members...”
No big surprise here, but Obama/Wright’s Black Liberation Theology “church” (United Church of Christ) is a member of the far left “National Council Of Churches”. See post 16 for more info on the dangerously far left NCC.
What a tremendous disappointment this Pope has been.
The Vicar of Christ strikes out at both the Congress and the UN
Did he even quote or reference the Bible at his UN speech? I heard he did not
He was just another marxist mouthpiece in a big white dress
