Huckabee: ‘Kim Davis In Federal Custody Removes All Doubts About Criminalization Of Christianity..’
CBS DC ^ | 9/3/15

ASHLAND, Ky. (CBSDC/AP) — A defiant county clerk was sent to jail for contempt Thursday after insisting that her “conscience will not allow” her to follow a federal judge’s orders to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.

“God’s moral law conflicts with my job duties,” Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis told U.S. District Judge David Bunning. “You can’t be separated from something that’s in your heart and in your soul.”

The judge said she left him with no alternative but to jail her, since fines alone would not change her mind. A deputy escorted her out of the courtroom, although not in handcuffs, to be turned over to the custody of federal marshals.

“Her good faith belief is simply not a viable defense,” Bunning said, noting that allowing an individual’s beliefs to supersede the court’s authority would set a dangerous precedent.

“I myself have genuinely held religious beliefs,” the judge said, but “I took an oath.”

“Mrs. Davis took an oath,” he added. “Oaths mean things.”

Hundreds of people chanted and screamed, “Love won! Love won!” as word reached the dueling crowds outside.

"The judge said she left him with no alternative but to jail her, since fines alone would not change her mind."

Well, if bankrupting fines won't do the job and the re-education camp fails to convince her to denounce God, the good judge can always try flogging next.

Love has nothing to do with what those animals do to each under the cover of night let alone if they are an acting scoutmaster on a camping trip with a bunch of young boys...

A woman is in jail for exercising her 1st amendment rights and a crowd is screaming, “love won”?

God helps us, literally.

“Mrs. Davis took an oath,” he added. “Oaths mean things.”

Not to the political class, Judge.

Didn’t break the law. Abides by state constitution. Believes in God’s definition of marriage.

Guilty of violating Satanic “law”. Incarcerated as political prisoner

Fed gov. Enemy of God.

The union of 2 sodomites is not a marriage, so it’s not a marriage license.

While I agree with Huckabee to an extent, apathetic citizens are also a part of the problem imo.

To begin with, Thomas Jefferson had predicted citizen apathy and its consequences.

“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ms Davis, and other patriots in her position, have not considered that the corrupt federal courts have breached the Founding States' divisison of federal and state powers by stealing unique 10th Amendment-protected state power to regulate marriage, wrongly using that power to legalize gay “marriage” from the bench.

I likewise wouldn’t be surprised if Ms Davis, and other patriots in her position, have not considered that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Senate is not doing its job to protect the states, as the Founding States had intended for it to do, by working with the House to impeach and remove the activist judges who are stealing state powers to legalize gay “marriage” from the bench.

Note that Acts 22:25-29 indicates that Paul had argued his Roman citizenship to save himself from being flogged.

Again, while Mr. Huckabee is right about the corrupt courts criminalizing Christians to an extent imo, Christians are nonetheless evidently not prepared to use the Constitution to defend themselves from criminal action by judges.

The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators and pro-gay activist justices and judges along with it.

“Love won! Love won!”

I remember fifty years ago when the HIPPIE movement denigrated anything middle class or bourgeoisie. Marriage was denigrated as out dated, old hat, unnecessary. After if you really LOVED SOMEONE, a piece of paper called a marriage license was not needed.

Now, those same old HIPPIES and their children and grandchildren have SEEN THE LIGHT, and have declared marriage the most important thing two people can engage in!

But ONLY IF YOU ARE GAY!

What you have just illustrated is the "Progressive Era" and its ultimate chokehold insistence on state and culture. The 17th Amendment repeal would be but a good start, FRiend.

"The 17th Amendment repeal would be but a good start, FRiend."

We’re now paying the consequences of many generations of parents not making sure that their children are being taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood.
