FWIW: If I'm not mistaken, blood moons are of significance to Islamists.

Don’t we call this site “World Nut Daily”?
For good reason?

I’ve been hearing a lot about this on George Noory’s show.
There is a Jewish version of the same thing. It is called The Shemittah, a form of Judaic prophecy. It is very detailed in what sequence of events will be occurring. I never heard of this term before hearing it on the radio last week.

My cat started sleeping in a different place today. I’m pretty sure that means we’re going to get an earthquake soon. Or something.

I know it sounds strange, but I would not automatically dismiss the blood moon issue. We’ve had three different but quite interesting Biblical concepts presented in best selling books lately, and all three concepts mutually reinforce each other.

The “Harbinger” makes what seems to me to be a very credible case that recent events fit hand in glove with a warning God delivered to ancient Israel. The warning was ignored and disaster followed.

The same author wrote a book about the Shemitah which is also credible, although the link to modern times is perhaps a tad less convincing than the Harbinger. The key date in this book coincides with the coming blood moon in September. An important point in the book is that the financial storm this heralds does not have to occur on a specific day, but that it will occur soon.

The third book is about the 4 Blood Moons in a single year that we are currently experiencing. The evidence cited in this book tying major historical events affecting Israel is also credible.

Significantly, all three of these books tell a mutually reinforcing story, each coming at it from a different direction.

NONE of them try to pin things to an exact date, although they indicate whatever is coming is likely to be soon. Taken together they add up to an unmistakeable warning.

I realize that in this day and age it is hard to imagine that God might be sending us a warning.

Personally, I do not know if these constitute a warning, but it certainly seems they may. Regardless, it is easy to sense big trouble is near even if we do not know exactly what it will be or when. These three books, taken as a whole, strongly reinforce that feeling.

We have the Shemitah year plus the lunar tetrad making the next year or so real fun.

Throughout time eternal, any rare astronomical event is seen as foreboding of evil events.

The truth is that the events were going to happen, regardless of the signs in the sky. But it is convenient to blame them on the moon, like the priests of Egypt blamed the Gods for flooding the Nile.

Well, there was a guy on C2C the other night talking about a “shmitah”sp? on September 13th or thereabouts.

I’m not sure what that means, apparently debt forgiveness followed by economic collapse.

Anyways a LARGE number of institutions including Citi and JPM are warning about a stock market “correction”. Given all the warnings about this happening, NO ONE can reasonably stand up after the fact and whine “Why didn’t they tell us....???”

Believe me, they are telling you now.

Just my opinion.

The Shemitah comes every seven years. After seven cycles of seven years, there is a Year of Jubilee. Some internet sources say the 70th Year of Jubilee starts this October. Jews do not currently commemorate Jubilee, but they do observe Shemitah.

The blood moon tetrad repeats on an average of about 400 years.

The Tetrad of Four Blood Moons: A series of four consecutive total lunar eclipses, with six full moons in between, and no intervening partial lunar eclipses, all falling on consecutive holy days of Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. This rare event has happened only seven times, so far, since 1 A.D. and has sometimes coincided with important events in Jewish history.

Prophesy referenced by Wikipedia article:
“The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.”
– Joel 2:31

“The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.”
– Acts 2:20

Total Solar Eclipse of March 20, 2015

Total Solar Eclipse of Sept. 13 2015

Important dates:
Apr. 15, 2014 – Blood Moon (First Day of Passover) wikipedia
Oct. 8, 2014 – Blood Moon (First Day of Feast of Tabernacles) wikipedia
Mar. 20, 2015 – Equinox, New Year Total Solar Eclipse at North Pole wikipedia
Apr. 4, 2015 – Blood Moon (First Day of Passover) wikipedia
Sept. 13, 2015 – New Year Partial Solar eclipse at South Pole wikipedia
Sep. 28, 2015 – Blood Moon (First Day of Feast of Tabernacles) wikipedia

There was also the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in the Leo constellation on June 30 and July 1, 2015, that the news played up as a "Star of Bethlehem" formation. This is the only one that does not necessarily seem significant to me.

http://www.macrotrends.net/1470/historical-silver-prices-100-year-chart

Silver at $15 an ounce is about $2 an ounce above its 30 year average, adjusted for inflation.

http://www.macrotrends.net/1333/historical-gold-prices-100-year-chart

Gold at $1100 an ounce is about $300 an ounce above its 30 year average, adjusted for inflation. Note: I recommend ignoring gold prices before 1975 because of old laws on possession of gold.

Neither has been a great investment historically, but they are not bad options at this time for those who see utility in the physical possession of precious metals. As for cash, it doesn’t lose any more value to inflation in your pocket than it does in the bank. A little gold, silver, or cash is a prudent option that costs little.

Probably so. Islam is the counterfeit of Christianity. For example, our salvation is assured by the death (and resurrection) of someone else, Jesus. In Islam, your salvation is only assured by your own death in martyrdom.

Ever since I was a boy, I've been hearing these astrology quacks predict doom every time there is an uncommon celestial event.

100% of the time, life goes on as normal.

Think about it though, Earth is a tiny planet in a tiny solar system in a tiny galaxy in a vast universe that we cannot even comprehend. In that context, it's utter foolishness to assign significance to how planetary objects line up from the perspective of our puny little planet.

It's fun to look up in the sky and point out conjunctions, eclipses, comets, etc., but those events do not portend anything at all.

The WND article refers to Daniel. Why? The NT makes clear what must precede the return of Jesus Christ when the “SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (See Matthew 24:1-29)

The NT makes clear what the OT obscures.

Where’s the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)? (:15)

Where’s the great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will? (:21)

Where are the false Christs and false prophets that will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect? (:24)

WND is a Christian Zionist deception.
