A young friend from Church lost her Dad last night.
She is on an 11 month mission trip to Africa and other countries and will not be able to attend the funeral.
I just wanted to let you all know that my dad died at around midnight last night. I found out when I woke up this morning.
I'm currently in Nelspruit at debrief with my entire squad and I truly feel like there's nowhere else in the world I would rather be. Last night, I told my squad what was happening and they put me in the middle of the room and laid hands on me and prayed for me. They hugged me and encouraged me and loved me. I have never felt so loved or supported, but it's still really hard being here. It's not hitting me, but what is hitting me is the guilt. I'm really struggling today with feeling like he tried really hard to love me in his own way and I rejected him. It's just really hard.
Specifically, please be praying for my brother Gunner. He lived alone with my dad for over 10 years and is struggling with the guilt of not getting him help sooner. He is really in a bad place mentally and is very unstable, so I'm really scared of what he might do in this time. Also keep my Uncle Tom, who was really close with him, in your prayers, my sister Kristen, who's having a really difficult time, and my mom, who knew and loved my dad far better than I did.

We lift up Mary and her family to You. May the Holy Spirit draw close at this time to give them comfort and peace that passes understanding in this time of sorrow. In the name of Jesus we bind any guilt and regret that Mary and Gunner have regarding their relationship with their father. May Mary’s mother feel Your love.
You are our Healer. You are our Comforter. You are our Peace and Rest. You are Forgiveness.

O God, our help in time of need, Who are just and merciful, and Who inclines to the supplications of His people. Look down upon Thy servant Mary and her family and have mercy on them and deliver them from the trouble that now besets them. Deal with them not according to their iniquities, but according to Your manifold mercies, for we all are the works of Your hands, and You know our weaknesses. I pray to you to grant them Your divine helping grace, and endow them with patience and strength to endure their hardships with complete submission to Your Will. Only You know their misery and sufferings, and to You, our only hope and refuge, they flee for relief and comfort, trusting in Your infinite love and compassion, that in due time, when You know best, You will deliver them from this trouble, and turn their distress into comfort. They then will rejoice in Your mercy, and exalt and praise Your Holy Name, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen
